Wear or Die: Footwear Edition

Wear or die boots Wear or Die: Footwear Edition

It's been a while since we had a footwear edition of Wear or Die, so of course we had to rectify that, didn't we?

Up above, you see two shoes. Both are black, both are ankle height and, in our opinions at least, both have taken a bit of a beating from the ugly stick. But just say you HAD to wear one of them. Or die. That's the choice before you today, folks, but will you choose Option A, which is Ann Demeulemeester's lace-up flat boots, or will you go for Option B, which is "Twister" by Irregular Choice?

It's a hard choice, but someone has to make it, and today that someone is you. Yes, you. Make your choice in the comments box below!

  1. A) I guess, since they look more comfortable and I can’t stand anything between my toes. But they’d be just plain torture if you got a rock in them…all those laces would take a month to undo!!!

  2. Oh dear, I’d wear either of them – hopefully that won’t get me arrested! But I choose B here because it’s easier to imagine what they look like when they’re on (and gokarm’s point about comfort has swayed me slightly).

  3. Option B – if I wore trousers to cover the top part it would just look like flip-flops, and I’m fine with that. Also Gokarm’s point about the comfort, I’d rather wear something that was comfy and ugly than something that was just ugly.

  4. B…By no means do I find them attractive, but they are only mildly heinous, as opposed to the awkward wannabe Chuck Taylors that option A seem be.

  5. Hmm, wear or die…in this case I would have to choose option B. B is not horribly ugly, in fact, I have defiantly seen people wearing shoes like it. But option A, horrific.

  6. Option B for me.
There are heaps of those shoes around here at the moment.
Besides, they would just look like jandals if you wore them with jeans.

  7. Hmm well with A I think you could wear socks (and sandles xD) and it would look like sneakers? (Maybe). However I would probably wear B a whole lot sooner than A. Tough choice though…

  8. I’d wear B with a pair of skinny jeans to cover the top bit. Then it would just look like I was wearing a sort-of awkward pair of flip flops and that would be okay.
I think A is a bit too extreme.

  9. I’d wear B, just because I don’t have any choice. I hate things between my toes, but I can’t wear flat shoes, they make my feet hurt. :o S

  10. Ah. OK.
I would still pick B, because – the laces, the laces! I don’t want to wear anything that looks like it takes longer to put on than the rest of my outfit – including the Deciding What to Wear part!

  11. I’d choose b. The laced up sandal boot is too much. I’d tuck in the pully before I go inside in it. In long enough jeans people will just think it’s a black polka dotted flip flop. And yeah, A is overpriced at over 20x the price.

  12. Oh I am well into Irregular Choice so for once it’s easy-peasy for me.Choise B.It’s not something that I normaly would buy but I wouldn’t have a big problem wearing them

  13. I dunno if it is because im slightly punk/emo.. but i wouldn’t mind either. A is like a high top converse/sandal and b is generaly a normal sandal that heaps of people wear here. maybe australia is different?
