Dress of the Day: Nanette Lepore Desert Rain dress

This dress could’ve stepped right out of the late 50s/early 60s, and of course, we just love the sheer retro-cuteness of it – not to mention the gorgeous teal colour. It’s Nanette Lepore’s Desert Rain dress and it has a very ladylike look about it – we can just imagine it worn with kid gloves and a pillbox hat, but if you’d rather NOT turn up to wherever you’re going looking like you’re in fancy dress as Jackie O, you might just want to play that aspect of it down with a pair of sexy high heels instead.

  1. It’s totally adorable. The fact that it’s too
short for a full-skirted dress from that era means that it also avoids the peril of looking too much like a period outfit.

  2. I love it, but the shortness makes it seem ever so slightly out of proportion to me. But that colour wins me over, I think I’d even love crocs in that colour (just kidding!)

  3. It’s pretty – a colour I’d like to see more of, definitely. I’m never quite sure about sleeveless dresses, because I have ridiculously long arms, and sleeveless dresses make me look like Mr Tickle!

  4. Lovely dress, but I have so many things in this colour. Can’t have another dress in the same shade! I’d have bought it if they did like a berry pink or something. Hey ho. It’s still lovely though.
