The drop-pocket dress saw a rise in popularity in 2008, but that popularity doesn’t seem to be on the wane yet, and there are more of these distinctive dresses than ever in the stores right now. Both of the dresses above are from the high street, so both could be described as a “save” option in some respect, but with the Warehouse dress on the right costing twice as much as the New Look version on the left, we’re wondering which you would go for – if either?
Would you save or splurge?

I’d save on this one, the splurge option is too puffy for my liking.
The splurge dress looks like it’s better quality, but I don’t like this style, so I wouldn’t buy either.
Wow, I normally prefer the splurge, but I think the save is far more chic. FAR more. the fabric and cut are cheaper and simpler, but in the case of drop pockets, I’d think a simple cut is preferable. Otherwise you look like you’ve got tumors all over your body.
The cut on the Warehouse one is deeply inflattering but the you can hardly see the drop pockets on the New Look one, so what’s the point? I vote none of the above.
and that was “unflattering”!
Not really a fan of the drop-pocket look, but I actually like the splurge one better – but I’d have to see both of them on, because I suspect they’d both look unflattering on me.
Neither. I HATE the drop-pocket look. My hips are already the widest part of my body. Why would any designer think I want to accentuate them even more! I think these would be unflattering even on a size 0 model.
Neither! Anyone with hips would look like a 747 coming in for a landing!
I like the splurge. It has cute sleeves.
But I wouldn’t buy either.
I wouldn’t buy these. I already have enough extra baggage floating around my basement that I don’t need to call anymore attention to it.
Both are really cute, if you’re young, tall, and thin. All of which I was a few years back….. But the save dress, because of its simplicity, would be far more versatile. Change shoes and jewelry, and voila! Different look!
The Warehouse version looks very cheap and nasty, and sort of uncomfortable, and the fabric really makes it seem lie the kind of thing you’d wear to the supermarket or hanging around the house.
the New look version looks a little more flattering and the cut and fabric seem alot nicer, this one looks comfy enough for lazy days but you could easily dress it up.
