Strange Shoes: Dolce & Gabbana sequined pumps

Dolce_and_gabbana_shoesWhen it comes to shoes, some women love heels and some women love flats. And some women love heels and flats. Together, we mean. Like, on the same shoe.

Of course, we have absolutely no idea who this third group of women are (clue: it’s not us), but Messrs Dolce & Gabbana are presumably confident that they exist, and not only that, but are willing to pay 495 euros for shoes that combine the two styles, and are also encrusted with sequins.

Are Dolce & Gabbana right? Would you be willing to buy these shoes, and wear them? If so, you can pre-order them here, with delivery from March 31st and there’s another(even stranger pair) pair under the jump…

OW! I can’t imagine how much that 2nd pair would make my feet hurt!

  2. gurl says:

i adore the first pair .. not so keen on the second!

  3. Dorothy says:

How many times do I have to click the heels together to get home?

  4. Rock Hyrax says:

I can see the logic behind them: suppose you love sequins, want shoes covered in them where they don’t stop short of the sole / end of the heel but know if they didn’t you’d end up scuffing them off on the ground. Solution: attach rubber to the bottom of the shoe to keep the sequins in pristine condition. I think..?

  5. Ruby says:

    I WANT THE RED ONES.
    NOW.

  6. Marianne says:

The red ones, without the base plate, yeah. I’m a sucker for a platform heel. The other ones… I don’t know. I think I’d feel like I was falling through the middle. And at nearly 500 Euros, Dolce and Gabbana will have to do without me. Or I without them.

  7. Lucienne says:

D&G, the next Mamma Mia movie doesn’t need those shoes on Meryl Streep’s feet yet!

  8. Tiff says:

The red shoes were designed for the campaign about the Wizard of Oz. A bunch of designers (Betsey Johnson, Chanel, Cavalli, etc) were asked to do thier take on the Ruby Slipper… thus the D&G shoe. I think they had a display somewhere showcasing them all.

  9. Cadi says:

Oh for the…if you’re gonna put sequins on a shoe, at least do it properly. These look like a fish that’s in the process of having the scales removed.

  10. Mousy says:

I want to like the idea. I just can’t.

  11. Kristi says:

    Hahaaa!
The black one reminds me of in the first Lord of the Rings movie, when they’re in that cave thing, and a part of the stairs have collapsed. So they have to jump from the top part onto the bottom. And it looks JUST like those shoes.

  12. Freddie says:

I think my mom and I saw the silver pair in a magazine and were trying to figure out how they would go on someone’s foot. haha
(though this picture is bigger and a little easier to understand… but only a little…)

  13. Kelly says:

The second one is “okay” (I mean understandable) with the rubber…thing…But the first…WHYYYYYYYY, GOD?!

  14. Whitney says:

the red ones remind me of a weird stripper version of dorothy

  15. Mafa says:

Both pairs are UGLY AND GROTESQUE!

  16. Fozzie says:

I have to admit, I love them both. I like the freaky footwear. I need help!

  17. a woman says:

I think my brain just exploded.
No matter how hard I try, I simply cannot wrap my mind around this… WHY?!
