Save or Splurge: Tiered prom dresses by Miu Miu and Red Herring

Tiered_dresses

The little black dress is often described as a "wardrobe staple", and although ruffles have been very much in fashion this year, we still think this particular style could probably see you through a season or two at least (or you could just wait for the next time ruffles are in fashion...).

Does the alleged "classic" status of the LBD make you want to splurge on one, though, or do you think these ones would date quickly enough to make you want to save on one instead? The dress on the left is our "save" option, and is £16.50 at Debenhams, while the Miu Miu option on the right is a definite "splurge" at £1055.

Assuming you were in the market for a black, tiered prom dress, then, which one would you choose? Would you Save or Splurge?

I guess I'd rather splurge this time. The Miu Miu dress looks nicer and more refined.

Definitely save! I feel like it would flatter my figure better.

If the Miu Miu dress had the sweetheart neckline of the Debenhams dress I think it would be better.

i LOVE the save one.

I'd pick the save one, I like the cut of the bodice much better.

SAVE! And spend the rest on sparkles.

SAVE! The 'save' one looks much more eye-catching to me!

Easy pick: SAVE. It looks much more flattering at the bust line and looks like it has a much more powerful statement instead of just being a black dress.

I like the 'save' one waay more!! I like the sweetheart neckline a lot! And for 16.50?!:D

Save looks cuter, though i think the splurge may end up fitting better...anyhow at 16.50 and 1055...save has won this round for me!
