And the rest of us are free to point out the tacky, absurd, oh-no-not-that-again-you-aren't-sexy-or-shocking-anyone-by-showing-off-your-cooch-BRITNEY (Shirley MacLaine did it first!) dresses that are TOO SHORT to even attempt bending over a hint to open a car door. Oh, and the purse is icky too. Way too casual to go with that outfit, and way too big.

That’s right, men are free to wear speedos so tight we can tell what religion they are, and women are free to wear skirts so short we can tell whether they saved a few dollars buying WalMart underwear. I've seen sixth graders wear shorts so short the insides of the pockets are longer, and are visible below the shorts. That's both inappropriate and tacky at any age.
A spaghetti strap top, super short clothing, tons of makeup, and a suggestive, flirty attitude makes for an inappropriate combination.
However, tone down the attitude, put somethin' over the spaghetti straps and take off a bit of makeup and you've got a flirty, fun outfit for any girl in middle school, high school, or a college-aged gal.

It depends, because super tall chicks and petite misses are going to have different builds and different legs.

I’ve seen sixth graders wear shorts so short the insides of the pockets are longer, and are visible below the shorts. She gets away with it. But at the same time this is a picture. Maybe if I was standing behind her when she bends down to pick up something I'd have a different view.
I wear short skirts. I have good legs. With tights or a bit of tan skirts are lovely. But if you can see my underwear then it's a no-no. I'm tall with long legs. I hate when skirts are knee length or below the knee. I look like my Grandmother ( no offence to granny!) But at the same time I regard myself as a lady and don't want to look "cheap".
You have to have a nice figure naturally enough. But no matter whether your a model or Mary Jane next door. You have to think " I'm going here. People are going to see me. I want to be respected, therefore I should look respectable."
It also depends on where your going. Something that hot to trot on a Saturday night mightn't be as suitable in Church or at the office...

Hmmm… I don’t think this skirt is too short. For a skirt with no underskirt/slip or petticoat:
Don the skirt or dress. Sit in a chair. Spread your knees as wide as the skirt will allow, or does not feel uncomfortable. Have a friend get down with eyes on the level of your knees and look toward your crotch. If the friend can see between your thighs, the skirt is too short.
If an underskirt/slip is to be worn:
Don the slip and the skirt or dress. Stand up. Raise your arms and bend over as far as you can. For a waist-supported skirt, the arms do not need to be raised. Just bend over as far as you can. If a friend, eyes on a level with your butt, can see your butt-creases, the dress or skirt is too short.
A slip/underskirt should be a little fuller around the bottom hem than the skirt. This provides cloth to hang down between your thighs to prevent peeks if the skirt does not hang over your knees.
Just imagine going without any drawers (panties, knickers, undershorts), full-commando, just like all women did until a hundred or two years ago. How long would you insist your skirts to be?

Easy.<br

My rule is you need to be able to walk up stairs, sit, and cross your legs without worry. Generally 3-4 inches above the knee, but this is only if it is a fitted skirt, a longer skirt should be 1-3 inches above the knee... they flare.

I don’t think it is too bad, but if you can see her knickers when she sits it is too short.
