Kim Kardashian launches a shoe website – ShoeDazzle

Before we go any further here, let us just clarify that yes, we are talking about that Kim Kardashian – she of “hey, lookit my rear end!” fame. She’s just launched ShoeDazzle, which is a … well, it’s like a club for people who find it difficult to choose shoes for themselves, as far as we can gather.
Now, clearly The Fashion Police don’t have that particular problem, but those who do can pay a $39/month membership, and for that, you’re sent one pair of shoes per month. The shoes are selected by ShoeDazzle’s team of stylists: when you join up you’re asked to complete a survey allowing them to work out what kind of styles you like. They then send give you a choice of five pairs of shoes every month, which they’ve “hand picked” for you – you choose the pair you like best and they’re on their way to you. If you don’t like any of the suggestions, meanwhile, you just let the company know and you’re not charged that month.
Where does Kim Kardashian come into it all? Well, she’s apparently the “founder and chief stylist”. So now you know.
Some of the shoes are shown above, but, of course, you’ll find more at the ShoeDazzle website. What do you think of this idea, though, folks? Is it something you’d use, do you think?
The site is a big ripoff. The shoe brand sold is Michael Antonio. Cheap brand, not worth the money or the effort – I hear that Kim Kardashian is buying them in bulk for something like $3 a pair. $36 profit for her per sale!
Try them on. Ship them back. Try them on. Ship them back.
Sounds like one of those niche depts in hell.
It reminds me a bit like those book clubs in the 90s. They always felt like a scam.
Mousy might be onto something. The only way anyone will make a profit is if the shoes are of questionable quality. Plus, doesn’t it make more sense to read a shoe blog and save your pennies each month? Then you can just buy the shoes you like. I don’t want to choose from five pairs! i want to choose from a million pairs and buy six pairs all at the same time! Just me?
I find this pretty indicative of every celebrity without their own sense of style. If you need to pay someone to tell you what to wear, you need to step out of the fashion spotlight. Let’s start a site that tells celebrities what to wear! Like dressing up paper dolls! That would be fun.
I’m with you, Siany! I don’t want to be told which shoes I’ll like, and I love reading shoe and fashion blogs, that’s where I decide what shoes I might want to buy. I don’t think ShoeDazzle will be a success, at least I really hope not! I’m a fan of individual style.
I can’t believe someone has a problem choosing shoes! Financing a shoe-buying habit – certainly… But choosing??
Choosing shoes is one of life’s pleasures (even if you can’t afford to but them…) Why give that job to someone else?
And I like Anna Nicole’s idea – that would be fun!
I agree with Siany. There are times when I dislike most of what’s available at a given time (in which case I may buy nothing for six months) and others when I do and may buy several pairs and they’ll last me through the years when there’s nothing in the shops – if you see what I mean.
There is already an excellent personal shopper service available at most upscale department stores and they do a fine job of choosing the whole outfit for you, not just shoes. If anyone has trouble choosing shoes or clothes they can hire personal stylist to help, not some impersonal website.
I checked it out. I’m not sure why so many people are hating on this. I like being offered new selections of shoes that I may not find just going out and shopping…or may not have the time to find. I don’t think that makes me some fashion reject. So far with no obligation I don’t see what the problem is. I guess I’ll know more when I get my first pair of shoes.
I don’t think people are “hating on” it, Kaya, they’re just giving their opinions, like you are. People are allowed to have opinions, no?
I actually joined ShoeDazzle two weeks ago and received my first pair of shoes. I am loving the shoes I picked from the ones they recommended for me. Some of the shoes they recommended were not the shoes I would normally pick, but after looking at them, I see why they are stylists and I am not
For $39, I think it is an incredible deal. I do agree with some of you out there about picking amongst millions of pair of shoes, which is why Zappos does so well. But I think ShoeDazzle will have its niche of customers . . . like me!
I just wore my first pair of shoes from ShoeDazzle to a Holiday Party…and I LOVE THEM!!! Lots of compliments! They were really easy to match to a great outfit.
I just wore my first pair of shoes from shoeDazzle. I have had nothing but compliments. I buy shoes from all over, but I thought that i might try this website. I normally won’t buy a pair of shoes for $39.00 (normallly indicates poor quality) but the pair I picked are really cute and made well. I would put them in the same league as Steve Madden or BCBG.I thought it was fun to choose a pair of shoes from what they offered. If you have the $39.00 what the heck-if not stick to BOGO…
