We’ll be honest: we’re not 100% sure about this dress. It looks fabulous in the pictures we’ve seen of it on the model (but then, that’s what we’d expect because, d’uh, she’s a model!), and we love the colour, of course, but something about the frills at the bottom just doesn’t sit quite right with us, and we think we’d have to try it on to really make up our minds about it.
For those of you who have no such qualms, though, and who think this would be the perfect dress to swish around in during the party season, this is £45 from Dorothy Perkins, even although it’s new in this week, a lot of sizes are already sold out online, so you might want to get in quickly with your order.
Oh, Jodie. Look, we know lace tights are oh-so-very fashionable right now, and we hate to be the ones to break it to you, but Jodie? Sweetie? You’re supposed to wear them under something else. Like a skirt, for example. Or a dress. You remember skirts and dresses, don’t you, Jodie? Good. Let’s see if you can’t try wearing one every now and then…
Before we go any further here, let us just clarify that yes, we are talking about thatKim Kardashian – she of “hey, lookit my rear end!” fame. She’s just launched ShoeDazzle, which is a … well, it’s like a club for people who find it difficult to choose shoes for themselves, as far as we can gather.
Now, clearly The Fashion Police don’t have that particular problem, but those who do can pay a $39/month membership, and for that, you’re sent one pair of shoes per month. The shoes are selected by ShoeDazzle’s team of stylists: when you join up you’re asked to complete a survey allowing them to work out what kind of styles you like. They then send give you a choice of five pairs of shoes every month, which they’ve “hand picked” for you – you choose the pair you like best and they’re on their way to you. If you don’t like any of the suggestions, meanwhile, you just let the company know and you’re not charged that month.
Where does Kim Kardashian come into it all? Well, she’s apparently the “founder and chief stylist”. So now you know.
Some of the shoes are shown above, but, of course, you’ll find more at the ShoeDazzle website. What do you think of this idea, though, folks? Is it something you’d use, do you think?
It just goes to show, folks, it doesn’t have to be prom season for the ugly prom dresses to be out in force. If there’s one thing The Fashion Police have learned, it’s that you have to be ever-vigilant against these crimes of fashion, and not let your guard down, even for a second. Because if you do, this is the kind of thing that happens.
This is another dress in the “Oh my God, I have fungi growing all over my body!” mould. It’s the second such crime we’ve had to apprehend this week and we can only hope it’ll be the last. Just be to be on the safe side, though, we’re issuing a warning: be on the lookout for these crimes of prom fashion, people. Let’s get them before they get us!
(Thanks to Officer Adrienne for sending in this report!)
Dollface reviews i.d Bare Minerals mineral foundation. Forever Amber is thankful. Grumpy Old Bloggers ask: would you be happy or sad if your local pub closed its doors? And the Realtor wants to know whether you’d say ‘yay’ or ‘nay’ to peacock feathers?
The Mulberry ‘Maggie’ is one of those ‘It’ bags that’s frequently seen on the arms of celebrities, but we though this green patent version was particularly festive looking. That’s why it’s Handbag of the Week, of course. NOT just because The Fashion Police really like the colour, obviously. Hey, would we do a thing like that? Totally.
This week, reports have started to reach The Fashion Police of yet another worrying trend in footwear. These disturbing images were sent to us by Orla, and as you can see, they depict "thong booties". Yes, thong booties. We know. Hush, now, The Fashion Police will make the scary monsters go away. Unless, of course, you really like them, in which case you can buy yourself a pair at Shopbop, where they’re currently retailing for $178. And they’re also available in black…
Seeing as we were just praising Net-a-Porter, we thought it would be fitting to feature a Dress of the Day from there – also, we managed to catch Marc Jacobs at a good moment, and we like to try and encourage him anytime that happens, so here is his heart jacquard dress, £625 at the aforementioned Net-a-Porter.
We love this bright purple colour which is currently being described by many as “the colour of the season”. (Is it just us, or does purple get described that way every year at this time?) This is a dress that looks quite different when it’s actually on, mind you, with a little split to the front which isn’t visible in this picture, so you may want to take a look at the other images of it before handing over your £625.
