Trousers with skirts attached to them: spotted!
Remember a couple of weeks ago, when we were reminiscing about the 90s trend for trousers with skirts attached to them? Well, we found an example for you, and as it turns out, that trend may not be quite so "nineties" after all, because if you like it, you can buy this trouser/skirt combo for the "bargain" price of £528 from designer Yohji Yamamoto. Or, of course, you could just wear an existing skirt over an existing pair of trousers, save yourself the £528, and create exactly the same effect – although we’d guess the "double waistband" you’d be dealing with if you chose to do that could end up being a bit of a pain…
Is this a look you would go for, readers, or do you want to just send it right back to the 90s?
What on earth is the point of skirts over trousers? I remember these briefly years ago and they were terrible even then
No I disagree – it works for some people – my sister for example looks fabulous with a skirt over trousers! Me, I Look ridiculous – and we’re twins… Go figure…
Ew.
I very much dislike the look of a skirt over trousers. I was a little tyke in the nineties, but I still remember the ugliness of this trend.
And I think it’s even worse that the skirt comes attached to the trousers. I mean really, just buy a skirt and some freaking trousers if you love this look that much.
Nooooooooooooo!
*sigh* i do not like yamamoto designs, always so ill fitting and confusing..and lifeless?
i had a skirt over pants ensemble once..i was 10.
Oh, horror! I remember those days back at university…
I didn’t like it then and I do not like it now.
Crime!
I used to have one of those skirt over trousers outfits when I was around seven years old.I really did think I was the bees knees.
Does anyone else my age(16) remember when Avril Lavigne was just making it big and those cargo pants with the random pieces of fabric coming out of them were all the rage?
I am actually looking for some made of cotton/stretch fabric…but that’s because I need them for my belly dance class and I don’t want my butt jiggling for all the world to see. I think the skirt is a great cover up for jelly bums.
Oh, a Gothic Lolita Aristocrat Pantskirt, popular in Japan. Should only be worn with black & equaly gothy shirts.
