We’re trying very hard to understand this, and why anyone other than Lara Croft would want to wear it, but it doesn’t seem to matter how long we look at it, it just doesn’t get any more appealing. Call us old fashioned (we’re sure some of you will!) but we tend to like to wear our belts either on our waists or on our hips, not around our buttocks.

I.. rather like them, actually. Are they functional? Nah. So? They’re fun! I just made myself a similar sort of body harness/40s mobster shoulder holster contraption, so it resonates. Am I about to be cast to the 7th circle of fashion hell?

I’ve been stuck in a harness for hours on end, and, although granted that this one here is thinner, and less flexible (this might not be a good thing…) than a regular harness, they are some of the most uncomfortable things to be in. The leg straps ride up and chaffe for one unless your legs are permantently splayed apart such as in the photo, and no movement is going on.
To me it looks like a kind of kinky-bondage look. I’d never wear it. I’d look strangely on anyone in the street wearing it. Maybe it might go over at a dance club, but that’s a big maybe – and again it would probably be an S&M club.
I’m not saying it looks like this exactly, but … did your mom ever tell you that feminine hygiene pads used to be worn with a belt (this was before adhesive … and *no*, I’m not old enough to remember them!). Anyway, this sort of makes me think of that.
So no, I would definitely not wear it.
Perhaps if you really wanted to frame your butt? It kind of gives me the impression that the model is wearing red undies with a black border on the outside of her pants.
Uh oh, if any designers read Nicole’s comment they may be inspired to create trousers with underpants attached to the outside : a misdemeanour of the “clothing that is stuck together” variety I believe.
neh…i’m not offended by it and I can certainly see it on some rebellious teenagers in full hot topic garb but…it’s not chic, that’s for sure, and it looks a little cheap.
It looks mildly S&M…as though it should be worn over a teddy or a pair of split-crotch panties. Yee-uch.
OMG!!! All those guys who let their pants fall down to their buttocks and let the belt hang over could TOTALLY USE THIS!!!
