my sister had a pair of tartan trews when she was a kid, I’m afraid it reminds me of them. Unfortunately I had everything “passed down” even though my legs grew somewhat faster than hers – yes, I spent a couple of winters aged about 10 wearing dodgy, too short tartan trews!
For this reason, I’d have to abstain from them, but do think they can look great, just on other people.

Tartan trousers are fine in a vintage punk design. These definitely belong on the golf course though.
