You weren’t particularly impressed with Peter Jensen’s ‘Mouse Hat’ last week, but that’s not the only thing he’s been designing for Topshop lately. Jensen has also created this range of distinctive colour-block dresses, and so of course we just had to know what you thought of these, too.
For ourselves, we think we’d need to see someone actually wearing these and looking good in them to be able to overcome our 80s Phobia, and the pictures above also seem to suggest the presence of hips. Given that there are no hips in these dresses, that could be a problem. As we say, though, a picture of someone looking fabulous in one of these could change our minds – we’re fickle like that.
What do you think of these?

Oh no, not on a Monday morning… Need… sunglasses…
I can imagine the left hand two looking nice on people who obviously don’t have hips though.
Aaargh. they look like a small child drew them….As one endowed with hips, I would run a mile….
Napoleon Dynamite prom scene! Need I say more?
I don’t know what I think, to be honest! There’s no way in hell I’d ever wear one, but think they look quite sweet – like they’d be good Barbie clothes.
“Kthxby”. Or: “Okay, thank you… I go and buy another one. A pretty one, for example.”
No. Just… No.
They remind me of tiered curtains from the 70s.
They remind me of the cardboard waves used in children’s school plays.
I happen to like them. Maybe it’s because I’m only 18.
Not good for anyone with hips but I think Daisy Lowe could pull them off
The middle one MAYBE…
At Amanda Nicole: I’m 18, too, but I wouldn’t ever even thing of wearing them. They look really like Barbie’s clothes.
Haaaate. They look really cheap and I can’t imagine them flattering anyone.
Looks like they’ve been coloured in by a kid. And not in a good way.
Just looks like lazy designing, to be honest. But it seems that’s occurring a lot at Topshop theses days….
ewwww…X/
YUK!
they look very badly made, done by someone who can’t really sew all that well…
I agree with the commenters who say they look really poorly made and cheap. A colorful little prom dress could be very cute — why should high school seniors have to dress like adults? But not these.
i just purchased the middle one for £13.50 – from £120 !! such a bargain !! im definately going to wear it tho its a lovely fit and feel !!
