Dress of the Day: ASOS studded v-back dress

Studded_dress

Studs: we have to admit, we like ‘em. They look particularly good worn with softer, more “girlie” fabrics, and are an easy way to give a bit of an edge to otherwise plain outfits. So studs in general get the thumbs up from The Fashion Police, but all the same, we weren’t 100% sure about this dress when we first saw it. It’s not necessarily something we’d wear ourselves, but we think it makes an interesting twist on the all-over sequined dresses we’ve been seeing for the past couple of winter seasons, and we like it better: it looks futuristic and a bit different, whereas sequins can just look cheap (although not all the time, you understand).

What do you think of it? We have a feeling this one probably won’t be to everyone’s tastes, but if it’s to yours, it’s £65 at ASOS.

  1. Not my thing. Doesn’t look comfortable to sit in. I think the thing to remember is that not everyone can pull this off.

Well, isn’t THAT the dress for airport security!

  3. Natasha says:

Oh yes! My thing exactly! Want!

  4. Sarah says:

Sorry, it looks like overkill to me. In the wrong scenario, maybe with the wrong person, this could look really cheap.

this would only look right if worn excactly the way the model is wearing it, except lose the necklace perhaps.
usually not a fan of tights, but with this dress they work, a short sassy haircut and some plain chunky bangles…i think with a sky high pair of heels..otherwise, yeah, it would probably look cheap.
the dress itself is very cool.
