Victoria Beckham unveils new dress collection at New York Fashion Week: what do you think of it?

(Click image to view full size)It’s a little bit surreal seeing Victoria Beckham’s name among the list of designers at Style.com, isn’t it? Surreal or not, though, Posh Spice is determined to prove herself as a designer, and to that end, she’s chosen New York Fashion Week to launch her new dress collection, seen above.

There aren’t many surprises in this collection, and if you’ve ever seen Victoria Beckham herself (and it would be hard to have missed her, let’s face it), you could probably have imagined what kind of thing she would come up with. Each dress could have been pulled from her own closet: it’s all pencil skirts and figure-hugging shapes, and you can easily imagine Victoria wearing every single one of them. Which is the whole point, we guess.

No surprises, then, as we say, but we actually like these dresses – especially the white one in the middle of the picture above, which is also available in black. No, they’re not the most exciting or original examples of design out there, but we’d wear ‘em – or some of ‘em at least. What about you?

P.S. – Victoria also unveiled a new hairdo at New York Fashion week – see a picture and tell us what you think over at Hey, Dollface!

That was exactly what my office mate and I said before we even read your comments. Very Posh. No pun intended.

  2. I don’t like the one on the left, and the one on the right is very boring, but I do like the white one in the middle, though obviously you’ve got to have a body like Ms. Beckham or the model pictured in order to pull it off…

  3. Nice, but, (is it just me?) the skirts seem WAY too long. If I bought one of her dresses, I’d hem it to the knee or just above. Otherwise, I’d look like I swallowed in fabric, even with the heels.

  4. So where are we going to be able to get them and what sort of price are we looking at? I love the middle one (although I would never wear it in white) and would love to add it to my wardrobe!

  5. I like them in general, but I think they’re too long. Given where they’re hitting those models, they’re going to be really stumpifying on us mere mortals and will require alterations.

  6. And what does everyone think of her hair?
I think it looks quite nice actually, knew it wouldn’t be long before she was getting rid of that ‘pob!’.
Looks far better than when she had a cropped do’ with a blonde ‘shoe shine’ colour on it!
Though not sure it’s chic enough for her outfits, maybe a bit too rock chic for soph dresses?

  8. Today is a terrible day for me.
Normally I hate this woman and take every opportunity to slate her, but today I love her hair and am fairly impressed with her dresses. They’re not revolutionary but they’re the type of slim fitting pencil skirt thing that I love.
