Wear or Die: New York Fashion Week Edition – Hervé Léger swimwear S/S 09

Herv_lger_swimwearOK, folks, we know summer’s gone and it’s hardly beach weather, but grab your cossies because we’re taking you to the beach anyway. Or actually, on second thoughts, forget the cossies – we’ll supply those for you, and boy do we have a treat for you today, because we’ve managed to score you a couple of Hervé Léger one pieces, fresh from the New York catwalk!

You’ll be the belle of the beach in these beauties, but which one will you choose to wear, we wonder. Will you look weirdly indecent, even although you’re totally covered up in the black number, or will you choose to turn heads by giving the appearance of being naked in the “nude” coloured suit on the right? The choice is yours readers, but remember, if you don’t choose to wear one of these outfits to the beach with us today (no, you can’t just sit around at home in it!), you must die!

Which one will you choose?

  1. Veronika says:

I have to admit.. I kinda LIKE the nude one:D

  2. Lucy says:

I would rather die! I know that’s against the rules but seriously, I’m feeling rather suicidal just looking at them!

  3. peachfish says:

Going to have to go with death. They don’t look too bad on the models, but those are the ONLY people that would be able to wear them without the suit doing something really unflattering.

  4. Am says:

Well, the black one, but only because I don’t want people to think I’m naked and call the real police! Do I get to keep the sunnies because they would totally cover my small face, and therefore my identity.

  5. Han says:

I pick the nude one- it has that nice little strap to hold my tummy in. :P Plus the black one looks like they put one of those censor bars across the model’s chest.

  6. GHASTLY! Seriously if I had to choose one I would probably have the Nude one done in Black.

  7. Mousy says:

I’d have to go with the black one, because as soon as I saw the image on the right, my first thought was ‘AGH SHE’S NAKED oh wait no she’s not’.
I don’t want people to glance at me and think the same thing!

  8. Mafi says:

    the black one!

  9. JC says:

They look like the kind of item you’d get all tangled up in just trying to put it on…or at least i would anyway! Not that i’d ever willing wear either
Gunna say black though…if I must.

  10. Jilly says:

The black one — it wouldn’t wash me out :)

  11. Amanda says:

Damn these bandaged outfits! I’d have to go with the censor-bar black, as opposed to the nearly-nude.

  12. kdet says:

I have to say the nude one. Even if it looks like I’m naked from far off, at least it wouldn’t accentuate my hips like the black one. It barely looks decent on the model.

  13. Natasha says:

Okay, this might sound weird, but I actually love both of them and can’t decide which I like better!

  14. net says:

I totally don’t have the body to wear either of these. Everyone would think I’m nuts for even trying. Therefore, I would wear the nude bandages look, and claim to have escaped from a mental institution.

  15. MeisjeMeisje says:

I would choose the nude one. Only problem is I would have to have tons of fat sucked out. Does free liposuction come with this thing?

  16. Steph says:

Nude one. There would be non-existent bosom support in the black one.

  17. natalia says:

the nude one.. I would dye it a different color and it would be a teensy bit less horrifying.

  18. Danielle says:

Black! At least I won’t look naked.

  19. SJ says:

The nude one. I’m extremely pale so it’d actually be more visible on me. And the black one does not have remotely the kind of support that would keep the girls in check… if I wore it there’d be boobs everywhere and I’m pretty sure that’d get me kicked off the beach…
Well, except Ontario. BC and Manitoba are too far to go to the beach. :P

  20. Zoe says:

Ha, I actually don’t mind either much -although I wouldn’t dream of /paying/ for them. Certainly no death for me this week, in any case. The nude one reminds me irresistibly of a straightjacket, so it’ll have to be black for me.

  21. edith says:

I actually like the nude one.

  22. kevie says:

I vote we die. Imagine all the rolls either would create on a life-sized woman. So wrong.

  23. Trancent says:

If I had to wear it just like that, I’d have to pick the black one. Nude just doesn’t appeal to me.
I know it has no chest support, and the upper arm bands looks a bit randomly placed, plus you’d get quite an odd tan, but it actually covers more skin than what I’ve seen prancing on the beach now a days.
Though if I got to modify them a bit, I’d actually choose the nude one in black. That would look crazy-cool. Yes. Crazy and cool. Both at the same time.

  25. christina says:

They are both amazing and well crafted! I would take either one in a heartbeat!!! One of the best attribues of this designer and swimsuit line is that not everyone can wear them and it rewards those who can :)

  26. christina says:

P.S~ if “life-sized” you mean american women…think again, we are an overweight country. Look at european women they are also “life-sized” and they would fit into either of these swim suits beautifully!! Plus they are designer they don’t go up to size 8+ ;)
