(Click image to view full size)Remember the sheer dresses from Dior's 2008 Fall Couture show? The ones The Fashion Police got all squealy about in excitement, but thought no one would wear in real life, on account of the fact that they were... well, see through? Well, we were wrong. Here's Diane Kruger in one of those very dresses. Now, if anyone can get away with wearing a sheer skirt it would be Diane Kruger, and we think she looks beautiful here (love the shoes, too!), although we still think this particular style probably isn't going to work quite so well for mere mortals such as ourselves, who could probably expect to get jeers of horror and calls of "you forgot your underskirt*, love!" if we tried to wear it.
What do you think, readers? Would you wear this dress?
* Underskirt = slip/petticoat. UK, possibly Scottish usage.

I wouldn’t wear it even if the skirt were not sheer. I don’t like the sleeves at all.
I personally wouldn’t wear it but I think she pulls it off well
I’d love it, if it wasn’t see-through. Btw, Diane looks a little too wooden for my taste. The shoes are sooo cute. Want!
If it weren’t see through it would have been AMAZING!
I could never pull it off, but Diane Kruger just looks good in everything.
I think it’s actually very flattering and I quite like it, but would so much more if the skirt had a few more layers underneath to.. Block it in, so to speak.
Love it and would wear it in a heartbeat…
The bodice underneath is so beautifully cut I can hardly fault the “sheer” rest of it. Dior really pulled off the “shress” because he understood it’s fundamental appeal…delicacy. The sheer portions are edited as to not overwhelm the piece and instead manage to flatter the overall design and the woman wearing it. I’m a fan and I still DON’T think anyone else has made it work.
