Coat Corner: Vivienne Westwood Red Label optical double-breasted jacket

Vivienne_westwood_coat It’s September, and in The Fashion Police’s book that means only one thing: it’s time to start shopping for coats – or at least looking at them, and wishing we could afford them, anyway.

We’re kicking off our Coat Corner column with a little something from the very top of the price scale, and something which, er, isn’t actually a coat at all, but a jacket. It’s from Vivienne Westwood’s Red Label, and this cute little double-breasted creation has everything we’ve come to expect from Ms Westwood: fabulous tailoring, a dramatic shape, with that oversized collar, and, of course, a high price tag.

If £550 doesn’t sound like too much for a jacket, you can find this one at Net-a-Porter. And if it does sound like too much, well, looking costs nothing…

That’s lovely. Like you say, shame about the price tag.

Oh, its fabulous!! I love the huge collar.
Pity I’ve a honeymoon to pay for, dont think J would like to sit in our house stroking a coat for a week, whereas I would gladly do it!!

When you think about it though, a coat is an investment and £550 isn’t THAT much… OK, I’m really searching hard for an excuse here! It’s yummy!

LOVED IT!!!!!! … and then I saw the price tag. *sigh* ’tis still a thing of beauty, though.
