Toe Tights: like toe socks, only pantyhose
You've all probably heard of "toe socks" - the socks that are basically gloves for the feet, with separate "fingers" for each toe. Well, here are their pantyhose equivalent: you can't see them too well in this picture, but these are "toe tights", which follow the same basic principle.
These were originally found in Japan, but are now being sold in the US, apparently as a fashion item, so we're interested to know what you think of them. Does the idea of separating your toes in your tights appeal to you, or will your regular tights suit you just fine?
(Oh, and if you answered "yes" to the first question, you can buy these at Sock Dreams)

Yaaay, sock dreams! I love them. But these, not so much. I have a hard enough time pulling those buggers on. Having to separate the toes is more trouble than it's worth.

It seems like they would just be begging for runs, from how much manhandling they'd take to put on.

I had a pair of toe socks once (they were a present, honestly!), and found the separated toes thing very uncomfortable. plus, it takes ages to put them on. And I don't really see the point.

Separated toes or anything between my toes makes me double over and cringe. I don't know why.

I'm with Amanda, I hate separated toes, so these make me feel ill.

And what's the point of the these? Why do we need to separate our toes? I sort of get toe socks; I guess it's to keep your toes snuggly and warm. But why would you get these? For thong sandals or something? Ew.

Actually I kinda like the idea - to wear with shoes that show your toes, when it's sort of cold out, or if you got attacked by monster mosquitoes a few days ago, tights can lessen the red splotchy look.
Sound practical.

I'm with Amanda and Chica, I don't like anything between my toes. And I fail to see the benefits of these tights over ordinary tights.

I have enough problems getting tights on already, toe socks doubly so, I'd never get out the door if I attempted these!

Jenn - um, I actually have no idea why anyone would need to sepparate their toes in tights unless, as you say, they wanted to wear them with flip flops, which would be plenty horrifying in itself!
Personally, I'm with the people who hate the feel/thought of things between the toes. I don't know why: I can handle flip-flops fine, but the thought of tights or socks is just horrible to me.
And yes, I think the hassle of putting them on would definitely rip them - or it would if I was the one wearing them!

I have a pair of fuzzy toe socks that I wear only when it's freezing out and I'm home in fleece pjs and snuggled under 5 blankets.
But these?
No.

OK, maybe I'm a prude but I still can't bring myself to bare my legs in the office, but then not being able to wear open-toed shoes seriously limits my wardrobe choices-- this completely solves that problem! As long as the toes fit...

Still love my pantyhose

I could see it, but only if there was a really good reason why you wanted your toes exposed without revealing that you are wearing pantyhose, with their ugly seams and sandal toes. Maybe a wedding? Open-toed shoes and pantyhose. I could see it.
I don't think I'd put in the effort and deal with the ick-factor of something between my toes (ewwww) if it weren't a special occasion, though.

There are actually a lot of anatomical benefits to footwear with individual toes, and you definitely get used to it very quickly. You can read about them on websites for high-end toe-sock companies like Injinji (www.injinji.com) and Feelmax.

does anyone know where i can get a pair of these kind of tights that aren't $27? That price is for the only pair I could find.
Thanks!
