Dress of the Day: red ruffle neck shirt dress by John Rocha for Debenhams

Just to prove that ruffles can be a good thing (or at least, not a bad thing) on a dress, this red dress by John Rocha at Debenhams uses them to nice effect around the collar and hem.

While the ruffles are all well and good, though, it’s the deep red colour and wide-skirt that attracts us to this dress, which looks like the kind of thing you could throw on any time you wanted to brighten up your day and be the centre of attention for a while. Although the design is relatively simple, the colour screams “look at me!” and worn with teetering black stilettos and a dash of red lipstick, we think you could easily create a look Dita von Teese would be proud of.

The price isn’t bad either: it’s £45 at Debenhams.
