Primark_autumn_08

They've been coming in for a fair bit of criticism lately, but Primark's Autumn/Winter 08 collection is probably a pretty good indication of what women in the UK will actually be wearing this winter (or is it?) so without further ado, let's take a look at it - and don't forget to tell us what you think!

I love the tartan wrap dress. Might have to look out for that one!

Would someone please give that poor girl a sandwich! She's skeletal even by model standards.

I don't really like any of these, except for maybe the last dress. I still wouldn't buy it though!

In answer to Alistair - I think she may have been photoshopped.

I freakin' LOVE the collection. I could go into specifics but I genuinely love every single look up there, tartan and all. Sue me :)

Let's try and not be nasty about people's bodies, folks - we don't make comments about how larger women "need to lay off the sandwiches", so let's not pick on the thin ones, either. Thanks.

I love the tartan wrap dress as well, very much even, but I can already imagine my butt in it. And in my head, it's not a pretty sight!

The rest is ehrm... not quite my cup of tea.

I don't want to be nasty about the bodies, but can I be nasty about that last pose?

I can't help but think 'zombie impersonation'. What terrible injustice to what otherwise would have been the nicest dress of the collection.

These clothes look great, but I can't help but think they will only look this good on someone of a similar stature (aka not me)

Oh man... I must own one of each...
but I do agree; I'll have to start dieting and exercising hard core to look that good in them.

Wow I'm loving the jackets and the blue dress.

The clothes are cool enough. Too bad I'd have to grow eight inches to look good in them.

Nobody makes clothes that flatter short girls anymore...

Don't like any of it. And mankind needs to build a gigantic stake and burn all trilby hats!

I really, really dislike tartan, so I'm amazed by how much I'm coveting that dress at the top. The neckline/shape is lovely. Also love the jackard prom dress and coat.

Nothing would ever persuade me into tartan leggings/trousers, which make me think of the Bay City Rollers, mind you...

I LOVE it all, especially the Jacquard bubble dress, but alas they dont ship to where I am so I'm screwed. And she is so not too thin, cause you can never be too thin..or too rich:D

I'm not sure how to feel about bubble dresses. I can't help but think that the two at the top would make anyone over 90 pounds look like she has an ass the size of Texas.

Oh my gosh, I love this collection! It's perfect.

Thanks for mentioning that, Ella. It's so true that it's practically impossible to find clothes that are flattering if you are vertically challenged these days. I like the collection, but it seems most of the pieces have been designed with 6ft girls in mind.

I hope they copy some of the bits into the kids section as I'm too small for 90% at least of the 'adult' sized clothes in Primark and I love so much of this stuff...
Either that or I learn how to use my sewing machine...

^._.^

WOW! :D

I own the first tartan dress (with the 'bouffant' on the hips). It's the most amazing dress I have ever had. Almost sold out one week later, I'm glad I grabbed one on time. I didn't think much of it until I tried it on. It's just perfect.

Okay so primark are not exactly known for their lasting quality but surely for the photoshoot they should have chosen a tarten tiered blue dress that didn't have loads of loose threads hanging from it!? Love the silver outfit and the tartan dress (not the loose thread one). I don't normally shop in Primark but might have to take a trip!

haha alistair i have seen worser!

oh and these clothes look great i know ill be the best dressed at college lol!

I can't imagine ever wearing the PVC leggings, but I'm seriously so tempted. PVC leggings and a massive woolly jumper, dominatrix meets, nan. Hot.

Fashionpolice, where did these pictures come from?? Does Primark have a secret online catalogue which you and only you are privvy to? Tell me pleeease!

Who provides these photos? Is it Primark? The model is vile, looks like she's just been dug up from 6 foot down - not at all a representation of typical Primark shopper. We really need to see these clothes on normal size models - from Size 8 up to 18, then we can give a fair opinion!
