Fall Preview: Miss Selfridge, Autumn/Winter 08

Miss_selfridge_autum_08

Charlie’s Angels! Whoops, no, our mistake – it’s the Miss Selfridge Autumn/Winter 08 collection, and we love the slight 70s vibe going on with that hair and eye makeup. We also love the first three outfits shown from left-right above (yes, even the wide leg trousers), although we’re not sure we’re going to be getting into the faux-fur-gilet trend that seems to be heading our way, if this and the New Look collection we showed you yesterday is anything to go by.

More pictures after the jump – remember and tell us what you think of them!

Just in case you thought there wasn’t going to be any tartan, relax, there is. The dress on the far left is actually the drop-pocket dress, which has been much talked-about here at The Fashion Police. Nice to see it on an actual person…

More tartan! And a sequined jacket!

And more faux fur… This is starting to look like a bit of a theme for this winter, from the high street, at least.

So, what’s the verdict?

I like the first dress on the left, but the rest is just ok
The hair is fabulous, makes me cross i decided to lob all my hair off!!

  2. Daisy says:

I agree with emmao414 on the first dress, the rest of it doesn’t make me giddy in the stomach like pretty clothes tend to do. Oh, and I absolutely HATE the fur.

  3. Natasha says:

Some of it’s not bad, but a lot of the pieces remind me of Sienna Miller, and that’s never a recommendation.

  4. SUSAN says:

Oh. Is THAT dress going to be actually available? Well, if not, I’d take the black pencil skirt with the nude top and the dress with the faux fur coat. Lovely.

  5. Glamfille says:

Very cute, like it a lot

  6. Mousy says:

I’m a first time poster on this blog. =) I’ve been rather enjoying reading it.
I do rather like the tartan and checks. Some very nice things here.
I do admit to actually owning a faux fur gilet, but in my defence, I got it when I was in my early teens and had no sense!

I like the first one it is very much so my favorite and the second not 1/2 bad i like it alot to but I had a problem with the belt. Other than I LOVED IT!!!! the third one, okay but not my favorite. Last one just plain ugly but over all I really liked the collection!!!!!!

I admit I’m a whore for fall fashion (or anything in regards to fall), so this collection makes me tap my toes in anticipation for the season. It’s VERY well excecuted. As for Faux fur…to me, it has a historical relevance…nearly every civilization in the history of mankind has worn fur, so obviously there is an aesthetic attraction between humans and fur. Thank God we live in an age when we can be cruelty free and still feel that connection to our roots. But yeah, that final faux fur coat is fugly. (Ah, alliteration)

  9. Adina says:

I love the second black dress with a bow on the waist and the wide leg traosers/ jeans but i’m not quite sure about the faux fur.

  10. @ Susan – the dress *has* actually been available on their website, but it seems to go in and out of stock all the time so you just need to keep an eye out for it!
As for the pencil skirt and top – it’s actually a dress, too: there seems to be quite a lot of this kind of style around at the moment.

  11. Miss Lyn says:

I love the red plaid button up with the bow @ the neck, fabulous!
