I love a brogue done right, which I find hard to find. Melissa also did a black and white colorway which I was excited to see, but then I found out it was rubber?? Not only that but it cost more than some brogues made out of…REAL stuff…This is sold out at browns, too. I can’t believe people want rubber shoes? seems cheap to me (yet..they arn’t cheap!)?

I could imagine these just barely working as part of a fetish-y steampunk outfit. A low-cut, button-up blouse in cream, knee-length ruffled skirt in dark brown, some sort of underbust corset in this same gold material, striped brown/cream stockings, and a top hat and goggles. There’s lots of better choices for shoes for this outfit, but if it came down to these shoes or death, that’s how I’d wear them.

I love brogues (I really enjoy the androgynous look) but I certainly don’t like gold rubber brogues, because… well, why would anyone?

Brogues are ugly as hell in general, and your hatred towards rubber shoes isn’t irrational at all – I have yet to see a pair of rubber shoes that I’ll like. So this combo is just…. “Hideous” doesn’t suffice… They’re somehow insane. Are we sure the designer wasn’t on LSD when he/she thought of this idea??

They’ve opened up a Croc store not far from where I go to school.
Someone has already vandalized their sign, writing “CROCS ARE UGLY AND THEY SUCK.”
I can’t understand the appeal of wearing rubber shoes, with the exception of wellies for rainy days/if you’re fishing.
