Budget Buy of the Week: stone encrusted feather brooch from ASOS
Despite not generally being too keen on items that could have the word "bling" used to describe them, The Fashion Police will admit to being partial to the odd sparkly brooch or three, and to this sparkly brooch in particular.
It's from ASOS, and it takes the shape of a feather (yes, we know what we've said about feathers in the past, but this one isn't real, so we're letting it under our Bird Radar). We think this would look fabulous against a plain black sweater or dress, and would be just the right amount of "bling" (there's that word again - oh how we hate it!) to glam up an outfit without overpowering it.
Buy: Feather detail brooch, £18, ASOS

That is rather nice. =) It's glittery without looking tacky.
I recall when I was little I used to pack as many pewter brooches as I could on the lapel of my school blazer... how incredibly tacky (at least they weren't plastic badges, though). These days I'd rather stick to a single nice brooch like this one. =D

I am all about the brooches; I'm highly allergic to all metals (I get an attractive rash from the top button on my jeans, even), and so love a nice brooch in place of other jewelry. I like this one, and would pay that price.

This one is lovely. I wear brooches on my black winter hats (which I wear lots, thank to the local weather), and I love the look :)

I like brooches, and I like this one. I'm also glad that a childhood spent collecting costume jewellery at car-boot sales is coming in very useful now that current trends are swinging that way :)
