Shoe Style on Trial: Christian Louboutin’s gold spiked heels

Christian_louboutin_gold_sp

Wow. Wow, wow, wow. And once again: wow.

We’re not quite sure whether we’re “wow-ing” at these shoes in a good way or in a bad way -or even just in an “those babies could really hurt if you got in the wrong side of them” kind of way – because every time we look at them, just one word pops into our heads. That word is – yes! – “wow”. And then we sit and look at them for a while, and realise that ten minutes have just passed while we’ve been sitting here staring at a pair of gold, spiky heels.

What do you think of these, Fashion Force? They’re by Christian Louboutin and the price is available on request, which generally means that it’s a case of “if you have to ask, you can’t afford,” so while this will never be a real life “to buy or not to buy” dilemma for The Fashion Police, we’re still interested in hearing your views.

Well, I’m with you, all I can say is “wow”. Obviously a “personality” piece. One wouldn’t catch a classy “Jackie O” type wearing these unless she has a kinky secret nightlife. They kick ass, though…to use the police metaphor, these are like the really charming criminal that even the fuzz kind of admires, even though they still have to lock him/her up.

  2. Arielle says:

Gold bling with gothic / punk detaiiing? That’s all kinds of wrong, and those shoes scream out that they’re going to be worn by attention-hungry celebrities and musicians with poor fashion sense.

  3. Arielle says:

I could also see a female villain in a 60’s-style Bond movie wearing those.

  4. Anna says:

These are wild! I agree with Arielle – they are costumy, and I don’t see how anyone could wear them otherwise.

  5. Jazz says:

I had the very same reaction. They’re really beautiful shoes, but I think the big scary spikes aren’t safe. I mean, those are HIGH heels. Especially for those of us lacking in the balance department to begin with.

  6. Amanda says:

At least they’d be a really effective way of creating some personal space on the subway.

  7. MeisjeMeisje says:

They scare the shit out of me. For me being a shoeaholic, that means a lot. Posh will probably wearing them.

  8. KT says:

I can’t decide if I’m scared of them or disgusted by them. They almost look like they were designed for kicking men in the crotch.

  9. Natasha says:

I love looking at them, but can’t imagine a single outfit they could be worn with, by anyone!

  10. Ma'at says:

Two words: Fetish Gear….. that said I bet Beyonce buys a pair… I mean she did rock the Lego Shoes

  11. ila, Bangalore says:

Fergie would look fab in these…. personally everything is good except the row of rather dangerous spikes!

  12. Alex says:

As a usual devotee of all things Louboutin, I am shocked and appauled. These are just ghastly! It’s like trophy wife meets S&M dungeon! Not good!!

  13. Kimberly says:

Oh my dear Christian, what have you done?!

  14. Emily says:

Absolutly fabulous. Christian Louboutin is an amazing designer. Uh no outfits? Imagine skinny jeans a leather jacket and a mcqueen skull scarf. After all, punk is in this fall. Dont you woman read Vogue or Elle? Gorgeous.

  15. Emily: You’re so right: if Vogue and Elle say it’s cool, we must all blindly follow! Silly us for having an opinion of our own!

  16. adnil says:

Janet Jackson has a pair. She had them on when she was on Tyra. :-O If I could I’d wear ‘em!

  17. JeremyA says:

I LOVE THESE SHOES!!!!! I wish I were a woman – many don’t deserve to be female! They don’t embrace the glory, and public allowance of what they can leave the house in. Men’s shoes and fashion is very boring.
I’m still debating the gender change so I can wear hot shoes like these to the grocery store!

  18. Jay says:

I LOVE LOVE LOVE these… I tell ya, they were not created for the average women. You have to have a certain SOMETHING to wear these.. Thank You Christian!

  19. opal says:

  21. Rila says:

these shoes are my world… i need them sooooo bad i have bidded so many times on ebay, entered for so many shopping sprees and scoped the interwebs soooo many times to get these babies for a decent price. i need them.

  22. dofnup says:

Oh, I could wear these … oh, yes. I could pull it off, I could. Damn right I could.
    Unfortunately my talent for wearing fabulous shoes does not match my budget ;_;

  23. Well i must say many don’t deserve to be female! They don’t embrace the glory, and public allowance of what they can leave the house in.

  24. Jillian says:

I think these shoes are fabulous. They can be worn out, just keep the rest simple. Obviously, for a dramatic night look. Pair them with a little black dress. Some simple gold jewelry, maybe with some Swarovski crystals accents to pull it altogether. IF you keep the rest of your look classy, these would be killer for a night out on the town!
