If it wasn’t made out of denim I would actually wear it at the next “Civil War Weekend”, because the look is nice and clearly aimed at reenactors. But why DENIM???!!!

I ran across your post while searching for lace doilies. I can honestly say that I’ve never seen lace doilies (if that’s what they are) used in such a fashion!

Now, now. This dress would be the hit of the ball in, say, Alabama, or pretty much anywhere in the Appalachian mountains. Except for the price, of course. That’s probably a month’s pay for some of these folks. But then again, most “mountain folk” are pretty handy, so if they saw a picture of this dress they could easily replicate it using old jeans and Ma’s heirloom table cloth. Hand sewn, of course….
