Ugly Prom Dress of the Day: Denim Addiction

Denim_prom_dress

Yes, it’s a denim prom dress. A prom dress made from… denim. As for the tendrils around the neckline, well, we don’t know what they’re made from, but our best guess would be it’s one of those lace doilies you sometimes see on people’s dinner tables, or hanging over the back of seats. So, doily and denim: any takers? Oh come on, it’s only $249…

Now, now. This dress would be the hit of the ball in, say, Alabama, or pretty much anywhere in the Appalachian mountains. Except for the price, of course. That’s probably a month’s pay for some of these folks. But then again, most “mountain folk” are pretty handy, so if they saw a picture of this dress they could easily replicate it using old jeans and Ma’s heirloom table cloth. Hand sewn, of course….

It’s kinda cute in a prairie kind of way

ewwwwwww!!! and I just ate, too. that’s nasty.

  4. I can’t help it, I have a (possibly irational) dislike of denim on dresses. Makes me shudder….

I ran across your post while searching for lace doilies. I can honestly say that I’ve never seen lace doilies (if that’s what they are) used in such a fashion!

I like the top. A different fabric and a fuller skirt would make it better.

If it wasn’t made out of denim I would actually wear it at the next “Civil War Weekend”, because the look is nice and clearly aimed at reenactors. But why DENIM???!!!
