Umm, yeah. We’d say those are just a few too many ruffles, wouldn’t you?
Mercifully, you can take the "ruffle front" part of the description seriously here: the back of this Poltock & Walsh skirt is plain black, which is a good thing, because we reckon you’d find it pretty uncomfortable to sit down in otherwise.
This is £350 and we’re guessing that a helluva lot of workmanship has gone into creating it, but we can’t help it – we still think it looks like a bizarre form of fungi. What do you think?

That’s a skirt? If you hadn’t told me, I would have guessed it was just a large picture of a hair scrunchy!
Oh, I thought it was a handbag! Anyway, whatever it is, it’s eeewwwy…
Yes, it’s hard to work out what it is at first, isn’t it? And if you can’t instantly identify an item of clothing, it’s almost always a bad sign…
I thought it was a bunch of crumpled chocolate wrappers! (the kind you get for Valentine’s Day)
It really does look fungal. Like if you wore it it might continue to grow. Maybe that’s why there’s nothing in the back, so there is room for expansion.
I thought it was some sort of artistic recreation of a uterus…
You would look like some sort of mutant Turkish Delight in that!
Skip the shape-related concerns. MAROON AND FUCHSIA?
Actually, I have taken a wad of clothes of out the washer that looked loads (pardon the pun) better than this, uh, skirt.

Turn it sideways and it would make a cute clutch.
You’re SURE that’s not a three-year-old’s craft project???
There is absolutely nothing to redeem this. The colour is hideous, the shape is hideous, the, um, ruffles are hideous, I imagine the jump to plain black on the back is hideous (though you could probably spend the entire time you are wearing it facing a wall, not much fun, but hey how much fun can you have dressed like a giant pile of sweetie wrappers crossed with some sort of fungal disease?)
I know I am in the minority here…but something about it appeals to me. I’m not sure I would wear it…but there is still something about it that is kinda cool.
It does look like a little too much, but on a person, with maybe a plain black tank, sheer tights, and pumps, it could be a really nice statement piece!
