There hasn’t been a whole lot going on red-carpet-wise recently: of course, there’ve been plenty of red carpet events, but no clothes on them that have particularly grabbed our attention, so this edition of "Best Dressed" consists of a selection of celebrity outfits selected mostly at random, and which we’re keen to hear your thoughts on.

All of these, with the exception of the Maggie Gyllenhaal shot, which is from the Dark Knight premiere, are from the ESPY Awards, so we have Maggie, Victoria Beckham, Hayden Panettiere and Kristen Bell, all hoping to be named Best Dressed of the Day. Who’s it going to be though? Well, that, dear readers, is up to you!

  1. This was a toss-up for me between Victoria and Maggie, but I thought I’d vote Vicky just because it’s refreshing to see her actually in clothes.

  2. This one was hard! I picked Maggie in the end – the dress is lovely – it fits her well, and has that red carpet feel to it.
Victoria looks good, but I always think she looks too polished, like she’s tried a little too hard, if you know what I mean.
Hayden looks good, but nothing remarkable. The dress looks a little cheap (though I’m sure it probably wasn’t) and well, a cheap looking dress on the red carpet… Well!
Kerstin – She also looks fab, but there is something about the dress – Maybe it is too shiny?

  3. I never thought I’d vote for Victoria Beckham as best dressed, but I like her sleek look. Gyllenhaal’s dress is too low – it appears that her breasts are being pulled down by the bodice. Panettiere’s dress is not a very pretty dress and the style ages her. Bell’s dress I would like better if it didn’t appear to shorten her waist in an unflattering fashion.

  4. voted for Maggie – nice dress, though a bit too low cut.
Victoria B – probably she is the best dressed but looks soooo fake. Why does even a modest and stylish dress look so false on her?

  5. Definitely Victoria. Agree with Arielle–Maggie’s dress makes her look like her boobs are drooping. Bell’s is also unflattering and Hayden’s is, frankly, hilarious.

  6. Maggie! Definitely, because her make up and hair compliment her dress and she looks daring and seductive without it being blatantly obvious!
I rather thought Victoria’s dress was somewhat…boring. The type of dresses one wears to office or something.
Hayden’s look was a little cheap and a little too long.
Kristen’s dress was pretty but it somehow reminded me of Liz Hurley and not in a good way.

  7. I think that Victoria is the best dressed and that she looks very elegant in this picture. Next I would say Maggie, who looks pretty as well and I think her hair and makeup really suits her. Kristin is also cute but I do agree that the cut of her dress is rather unflattering and shiny…finally Hayden’s dress is horrible…long and orange and does nothing for her figure.

  8. Hands Down, Maggie. It gorgeous and summery yet it’s also a very trendy Maxi dress and florals are big now as well.I would probably let my hair down and do a beachy bohemian sort of wave for my hair but it looks alot more dressed up with this style.Victoria looks very polished but i don’t really like that type of collar.People on here aren’t really loving Hayden’s Maxi dress, but it was a close 2nd for me. I really love it.And for Kristen, i think that dress looks very prom-ish and cheap.I’m not a big fan.
