John Galliano is a genius. Seriously, we don’t usually get gushy over catwalk collections, but setting aside the slightly worrying profusion of totally sheer skirts (we’ll get to those later), we reckon certain pieces from the Christian Dior Fall Couture 2008 collection should be available on prescription to help cheer up anyone who’s feeling a bit down.
From the fairytale dresses to the chic tailored pieces that hint at Dior’s past, we think Galliano done good. Really good. Here are a few of our favourite things…

We’d get divorced and re-married if we could wear this for the day.

The right way to wear pink frills.

We love the top half so much we can even overlook the sheer skirt.

We love the top half of this one even more, but we’d definitely be wearing a slip with it. And doing something about that odd lump around the belly area…

Well, we could always wear it around the house, no? Too much?

John Galliano is pure genius! I love his work. This is so ‘New Look’ – LOVE LOVE LOVE! I hope this style filters down to the high street soon – it would flatter almost anyone.
It’s like the forties all over again. What’s not to love?
Gorgeousssss!!!
LOOOOOVE at first sight! I wish the models didn’t look so frightening, though. But who care! This feels like dressing up Barbies all over again.
It literally is like dressing up Barbies for me, because I copy the dresses and make them into Barbie size for my little sisters
These dresses are gorgeous
It’s rare that a collection makes me sigh with longing…but this one did. If I were the kind to get married production-style, that tiered ruffle gown would SO be The Dress.
what’s up with the models? they look scary! like it’s halloween on the catwalk!
That last white one looks a lot like the dress Anne Hathaway is wearing on the new cover of…Vogue, I think.
I love the lavender, but agree that the mysterious bump needs to go away. It looks like the slip or lining of the skirt got bunched up.
If these dresses were christan dior you would have them on your crimes against fashion thingy. Just because its designer/expensive doesn’t make it good
Yeah, you got us, Charlotte. You know us better than we know ourselves! We’re just crazy fashion whores who think that if it has a designer name, it must be AMAZING. That’s totally why we have a website “thingy” that regularly calls out high end designers for trying to sell overpriced rubbish – it’s because we secretly just love a label!
*rolls eyes*
