Metallic trousers baffle us. They seem like the kind of thing you could only ever get away with wearing if you were:
a) a rock star
or
b) a visitor from the future
So, not exactly the most versatile item of clothing you’ll ever own, then.
Topshop are selling these ones for £50, though, and the fact that they’re being sold on the high street makes us wonder if the streets of the UK are about to start looking like the set of some strange sci-fi fantasy, with the sun glinting off thousands of pairs of silver-clad legs.
Is this scene about to become a reality? In other words, would you wear these metallic trews, or are they, in fact, a crime of fashion? Your opinions are welcomed…

I’m a giant Sci-Fi dork, so I think they look cool.
The problem is, all the other Sci-Fi dorks will also think so, and I’ll wager 95% of them don’t have the body to pull it off.
It seems like they’d be a fun thing to wear clubbing. Maybe not QUITE so silver, but shiny black with a silver tinge (more like a pewter, I guess) might look pretty rockstar.
That would be great for clubbing if you have the body for it.
I had a pair of silver pleather pants when I was like 10 or 11. I shudder to think of how proud I was wearing them.

Ah yes, clubbing… I always forget that people go clubbing, probably because I don’t ever do it these days. So, this is the kind of thing you young ‘uns are wearing to the “disco” these days, eh?
You’d have to be extremely slim and self-confident to pull them off. I’d never wear em and agree that these should be reserved for rock stars only.
Ok, sorry but i think these are really cool. My slender sister could get away with them (she managed to look amazing wearing gold leggings to work last year!). Me on the other hand, size 18/20, would never EVER pull this look off. Maybe its a good thing top shop dont stock my size because im in to rock music and sci fi so when I look at these part of me is like “yeah, go on , you’d look faaaaabulous dahling”.
