Lucy Liu in Giambattista Valli at the Kung Fu Panda London premiere
Lucy Liu? Two things:
1. Great shoes! Courtney Crawford, right? Nice choice! Loving your work on the feet. And we're concentrating so hard on your feet, Lucy, because...
2. Stand sideways to the camera in this dress, sweetie. Sideways. Because from the side, you're almost getting away with it. From the front, on the other hand? My, but those are some fine, childbearing hips you have there, Lucy. Fine hips, indeed.
Now, the thing is, we know Lucy Liu doesn't have hips this size: in fact, she has the kind of figure we'd pay good money for. So why hide that light under this Giambattista Valli bushel, we wonder? Why? The sad thing is, this dress could've been rather lovely, if it wasn't for the farthingale effect going on with the hips. We know this is a style Balenciaga have been popularising recently too, but we can't say it's a look we love - do you?

I love that dress! She looks great. Too bad it blends in with the carpet. The skirt of that dress is what makes it unique. Otherwise it'd be just another red evening dress. I really appreciate that it has dimension and an outrageous shape.

a gorgeous "almost" here. The bubble shape of the skirt would have been so much cuter if the skirt flared out at the bottom instead of curving in.

Awful. It flattens her boobs, and makes her hips look as though the words Middle Aged Spread were written just for her. Lovely shoes though.

I loved the dress when I looked at the first picture, but when I saw the second one, I was saddened to see that the hips are all funky. If it weren't for that small problem, I would absolutely love it.

I do like it and it's very refreshing to see a dress which is not just a boring evening dress. One doesn't have to put on show one's body in order to look fabulous.

I actually think that the Balenciaga dresses weren't this outrageous - I don't remember Jennifer Connelly's hips looking this enormous. This is taking it a bit too far. If she wanted that look, she should have gone for Balenciaga.

I think if her hand where not awkwardly dangling at her her sides and where place in a sassy fashin on her side, maybe even waving the other, it wouldn't look like she was too uncomfortable. Also-being the same color AS the red carpet adds about 300 pounds... of carpet.

I completely adore they way she looks. The amazing color of the dress almost makes up for the odd cut of the dress.. love the Crawford shoes.

I saw her at Fortnum and Mason that evening where she was buying tea and jam, well before the Premiere in that dress. Which means I see her well before the press. I did wonder why that lady was so dress up for shopping, even in Fortnum was a bit over the top. And now I know! Regrettably, I did not ask her to autograph and take picture of her, as I was very shy that evening, didn't know why! I am not usually like that.

I saw her in Fortnum and Mason too, I think she looks great with that dress, her pony tail matched very well with it.
