Dress of the Day: Lanvin t-shirt dress with ruffle sleeves

Lanvin_dress

We can blame Lanvin for the current ruffle trend, so it seemed only fair to us to feature one of their famous ruffled dresses in our Dress of the Day slot. This t-shirt dress is one of the more toned down examples, and proof that yes, t-shirts CAN be worn as formal attire, by the simple measure of sticking a whopping great ruffle onto each sleeve. It certainly creates a dramatic silhouette, but what do you think of it?

i’d say it’s more of a fashion crime

  2. Alicia says:

I agree Natasha, I’m not feeling it.

  3. Kkd says:

I have to agree with the others. It’s pretty shapeless, and the ruffles (and material) just look bizarre.

  4. Jilly says:

    This is just awful.

  5. Arielle says:

Not liking it. Never particularly cared for dresses with no shape to them, and having that much material around the shoulders is just odd-looking.

  6. Beth says:

As much as I love me a good ruffle, I agree with the above comments – the dress itself is kinda shapeless, and the proportions are a little odd.

  7. tido says:

looks cheap and nasty – and gives the impression of rampant armpit hair

  8. Gigi says:

YEs. I like ruffles just as much as anyone else, but the armpit ruffles? Kinda gives the impression of large shoulder pads or a martian suit-esque thing.

  9. Trish says:

    Absolutely hideous!!!
