Fashion Police Poll: Visible bra straps - how bad are they REALLY?

Visible_bra_straps Spring has finally arrived, so it's time for The Fashion Police to slip into our summer uniforms, which generally involve some form of vest top or camisole. The problem with this, though, is that the cut of most vests these days makes it pretty hard to hide the ol' bra straps under them. Of course, you can always buy yourself a bra buddy, or some kind of strapless/backless bra, but say you don't have any of these? What's a girl to do?

What we're trying to ask here is: how big a crime are visible bra straps, really? Do you cringe every time you see them and go to any length to avoid them, or are they just one of those things that can't always be helped and aren't worth worrying about?

I voted 'not so bad'. And they really aren't so long as it's not a white bra strap under a black (or any colour for that matter) top, a la the picture. Try to match you bra colour to your top and you'll be fine. Or go for a contrasting, pretty colour. But please ladies, no white bras under coloured tops.

I voted not so bad. I try my best to keep mine under wraps at all times, but it doesn't bother me so much to see it on other people.

I'm like Carol, try my hardest to avoid showing straps, but if it happens, well... it happens!

I used to really, really hate it but now it's not really bothering me so much - particularly if it's a black bra and a black tank-top. Ripped and or-dirty bras are a whole different thing though.

As long as it's a clean, reasonably nice bra, I can forgive it. I will admit to wearing a really neat bright blue one under a black tank top, and not worrying about strap show.

This is assuming it's a casual tank, though. Dressy ones, go strap-free.

I don't really love seeing bra straps stick out of racer back tops, but if your bra strap escapes out of your singlet top straps, that's no worries.

I try not to show visible bra straps, and when I do they're close to the color of the shirt I'm wearing.

I think older women are more offended by visible straps than younger ones.

If you're going to do it, make sure it's a cute bra, or at least not a manky one!

actually a current teen fashion is different coloured tank tops layered one over the other, with a vivid coloured bra strap showing, it's on purpose too...say brown tank with light yellow tank and pink straps...just for the fun of it

Not a big deal. I try not to let my straps show, but a visible bra strap is a lot less of a pain than bothering with strapless bras.

you will never hear a straight male complain about visible bra straps on a cute girl, it's sexy particularly if its black, red, or a fluorescent color.

Hey, I love bras and the contents they contain. A visible bra or strap looks best when the bra and the woman are attractive. Contrasting colors can be a plus. A twisted strap is definitely a turnoff.
Do women subconsciously show off their bras and straps to stimulate men?

they sure do, nukka

I think it's tacky, tacky, tacky! I see it all the time, sometimes girls will even wear bras (with straps) with tube tops and other kinds of "strapless" tops (those were the ones who ruined it for me). In my opinion, bras need to stay underneath clothing and be invisible, not be a part of the fashion ...

I think they look cheap and dirty.
