Anyone remember toilet cover dolls? We’re hoping, for your own sake, that you answered "no" to that question, but just in case you did, they were creepy little dolls with huge, crocheted dresses that some people used to place over the top of their spare loo rolls in a bid to make them look more "genteel". In fact, some people probably still do.

And that’s exactly what you would look like, were you to wear this dress to prom: a toilet cover doll. Isn’t that just fab?

  1. I once won a toilet roll doll at a village fete as a kid. I was bitterly disappointed when my Mum refused to use it. If I remember rightly it did look a little like this!

  2. I know some southern towns where this dress would be the HIT of the ball. Thank goodness I don’t live in one of them. They’re kind of like that weird town from Deliverance. The downside, of course, would be that if all the girls wore this dress, there’d only be room on the dance floor for 2-3 of them.

  3. This reminds me of when I was a kid and I went to a girl’s birthday party where the cake was one of those with the upper part of a Barbie doll sticking out of the top, and the cake was the bottom of the dress… looks exactly like this.

  4. There is a market for pageant dresses. I think this is meant to be one. We’ve got this “cherry blossom festival” where I’m at and there’s all kind of Miss Cherry Blossoms- kids, teens, grandmas, and from what I’ve seen that’s where dresses like this come into play.

  5. Oh my goodness. My ex boyfriend’s mom (who was also the worst human being i met i my whole life) used to have those “country hat” toilet paper cover. She obviously had 7 bathrooms and seven different colours of those trashy “covers”. I really, really, hoped she was the only one.
