Celebrity Style on Trial: Mischa Barton in “mom pants”

Mischa_barton_fashion_polic

We’re all familiar with "mom jeans", right? Well, here’s Mischa Barton in the pants version: beige, high waisted, slightly tapered, kinda baggy around the ass… and is that one of Chloe Sevigny’s tops she’s wearing with them?

Mischa Barton’s never been one to shy away from items of clothing the rest of us wouldn’t allow in our homes, mind you, but should she be so quick to jump into mom pants, do you think? Is she getting away with it? We’re putting her up on trial, so the decision, ladies and gentlemen of the Fashion Police jury, is yours…

Not only is she not getting away with it, but I have to say that I think she almost always looks ridiculous.

    kaitlin, my thoughts exactly!

Those pants, coupled with the floral print and cut of that top she’s wearing, makes her look like my mid-1990s fashion idol. Of course, I was a preteen in the mid-1990s, so take that for what it’s worth.

  4. Danielle says:

    She looks ridiculous

  5. Diana says:

Fugly clothes but the makeup and the hair looks great!

  6. bex says:

  7. Liza says:

it looks like something my mum might’ve worn in the 80’s. not a good look.

  8. Adiel says:

Reminds me of my mother’s taste in home decor in the early 90’s

It’s so hilarious that we bash these young girls for wearing too slutty of clothes… yet when they go on the baggier end or for a “mom pants” look [as the poster put it] we bash them too. I didn’t know that clothes had a specific label for age or position in life and people had to be dead set on wearing them.
Love the pants on her, she has the long legs to pull it off. Yet i think she could of hemmed the bottom instead of cuffing. The only thing that is a bit funky are her accessories. Silver bangles, bronze shoes, that purse, ring on every finger, and black nailpolish. But through all the mismatching it seems to come together alright.
