Fashion Police Poll: Celine Dion has 3,000 pairs of shoes – how many pairs do you have?

Jimmy_choo_shoes Last week, Celine Dion revealled that she’s the proud owner of something in the region of 3,000 pairs of shoes. This shock revelation was greeted by horror and derision by some, who seemed to equate ownership of a large number of shoes as one sign of the approaching apocalypse, and with a gentle shrug of the shoulders from others, who figured that hey, it’s her money, and if she wants to spend it on shoes, so be it.

The Fashion Police are firmly in the latter camp (Assuming that the shoes are nice ones, obviously, and not Frankenshoes) but as the issue of shoes, and the number of pairs that women own, seems to have attracted the attention of the media this week, we think it’s time for our readers to ‘fess up, too. So tell us: how many pairs of shoes do you own? (You’ll find the poll after the jump)

I would totally love to have more shoes but sadly am still a student and can’t afford to have more. Although my “imperium” is growing rather nicely;)

  2. Inox says:

I’ve got three pairs. One pair for work(at a fast food place, so they’re ugly non-slip things), one pair of sneakers for everyday wear, and a pair of black kitten heels for anything vaguely dressy.
And honestly? I really don’t want or need any more.

  3. Veronika says:

Oh! I forgot to write how many I have, ops:) Well I have about 100 pairs..

  4. Chica says:

I have about 25 – most of them heels.
I saw that article about her shoe collection & how she’d prefer to buy shoes than raise children or something stupid. What idiot wrote that article? Celine Dion is RICH. If I was rich I too would own loads of fabulous shoes – probably not 3000 O.o but still lots :D

  5. Carol says:

I think I own more than 30 pair, but there’s probably 10 pair that are in active rotation. Hard to say right now as we’re not quite into summer yet. Once we are, there’s a new pair of sandals waiting on the shelf….

  6. Well,I only have 3 pairs (currently a black pair and a cream pair of Unionbay heeled sandles and pair of tennies) in rotation at any given time, two for dressy (vintage ones that don’t match everything), then 3 pairs of boots for winter which I rotate.

  7. Megan says:

I own quite a few pairs… and pride myself on my collection. A pair of Laboutins are my babies, and then I have a pair of Diors which I am obsessed with also. All others are pretty much just cheap whatever I can find thats cute.

  8. Danielle says:

I wish I could own more shoes, but my feet probably wouldn’t be able to handle it.

  9. bex says:

I work in Faith shoes and enjoy a VERY good discount, so I think I own about 50 pairs! But I’m a half size in shoes so I think its safe to say if I was a normal size then I would own even more, as its hard to get shoes to fit me!!

  10. Kerry says:

I own somewhere between 10 and 30. So not that many really. Although I only have a few in regular circulation. I feel guilty when I buy shoes that I really don’t need – tell me, how do I stop that!
My favourites are definately my navy kid-skin slingback Manolo Blahniks that I got on eBay for an absolute steal. Sometimes I just like to take them out, look at them and pet them. *Sigh*

  11. natasha says:

i haven’t counted lately, but i’d say somewhere around 30 pairs. i don’t know what celine dion said, but if i had that much money, i’d have 3000 pairs easily! i just love shoes… i’d have more as it is, but i can’t justify spending that much money on shoes, and also, my husband can’t really understand my obsession and keeps moaning about the space my shoes are occupying.

  12. Heidi says:

I hate to admit, I have around 120 pairs. I wasn’t even aware of this until this post triggered my curiosity to count my shoes:)
I have a mixture of brand names and very cheap ones. My all time favourites are my two pairs of Christian Louboutin round toe kitten heels, peep toes Jimmy Choos in nude and black, distress patent leather Lanvin heels, and Chloe flats.

  13. Heidi says:

lol Kerry, I am with you here! I sometimes take my shoes out, admire them, and walk around the house in them! My bf usually stares at me and shakes his head at this point:) I wonder if a lot of women does this?

  14. Megan says:

I have over 30. Last time I counted it was 30, and i bought more since then. (Including two pairs of flats today.)

  15. tanya says:

I was afraid to count, but I have about 60. So not even a 100! Should go shoe shopping.

  16. Diana says:

I have around 20 pairs. I must say that I use some shoes a lot, and when I get tired I give them to someone who needs them (if they are in great condition obviously). But I really hate having shoes that I don´t use on my closet. I´m really on the thing about giving to the needy, same with clothes.

  18. Marie says:

I have around 15 pairs of shoes. But most of them are flats that I use for slippers and wornout sneakers (that I wear anyway?). I wish I could afford more shoes! Seriously this conting was a great eye-opener to me, why are they all so wornout?

  19. Emily says:

I have around 30 or 35…not bad for a woman who is only 20!! They are mostly heels and wedges with a couple pairs of flats, boots, flip flops, and sneakers thrown in there. Nothing cost over $100. My most expensive pairs are my Anne Klein and Jessica Simpson pumps. I try to buy shoes when they go on sale at Macy’s…I’m trying to get out of the cheap-quality shoes that I loved so much when I was younger.

And I take mine out and walk around the house in them too!!
