Frankenshoes: Azzedine Alaia open sandals with lace up front
Reported by Orla, these Azzedine Alaia shoes are £705 worth of lace-effect leather and, er, not much else. For some reason, we find ourselves thinking of insects every time we look at them, perhaps because we’re pretty sure that if spiders had feet, this is what they’d be wearing on them. Rich spiders, obviously: normal spiders clearly wouldn’t be able to afford them.
Browns claim that these babies will "look stunning with any outfit". Is the Ugly Prom Dress of the Day included in that sweeping statement, we wonder?
When I was younger I used to occasionally visit a “goth” club. Those shoes would have been fantastic in such a setting and probably have drawn compliments.
But imagine wearing those with a sun dress. Or a business suit. Or any normal outfit.
One has to wonder just what variety of woman they might be catering to whose everyday outfits could be properly paired with these shoes…
