Ugly Prom Dress of the Day : Little Red Riding Hood

Ugly_prom_dress

We’ve been running our Dress of the Day feature for a long time now, and while it’s always fun to drool over beautiful dresses, sometimes it’s even more fun to take a long, laughing look at the truly ugly ones. Take prom dresses, for instance. While we were putting together our Ugly Prom Dresses roundup a couple of weeks ago, it occurred to us that there are just too many ugly prom dresses in the world for us to round them all up in one handy little post. It would take us weeks, and as a new ugly prom dress is born every minute (roughly), the task itself would be like painting the Forth Road Bridge – endless.

So here it is, Fashion Cadets, the start of a new daily feature in which we’ll be showing you some of the ugliest prom dresses the world has ever seen. We’re kicking off with a reader-submitted dress: this Prom Dress Crime was sent to us by Fashion Police cadet Katie, who wondered if Little Red Riding Hood has missed her dress yet. And after Grandma spent all that time sewing on those ruffles, too!  Oh, and if you’re thinking of wearing this one to prom, remember that the long white gloves are an essential part of the outfit – all the better to make you a fashion criminal with, my dears!

Call the Fashion Police!
If you’ve spotted an Ugly Prom Dress on your travels, remember to report it to your friendly Fashion Police officials. It’s not the law… but it should be.

When I was 12 I would have killed for that dress :o )

  2. Chica, me too! I think that’s the problem :)

  3. Elise says:

In 5th grade I dressed up as Abigail Adams for a class project and this dress has a frightening resemblance to the dress I wore back then.

  4. amelia says:

It looks like a toilet roll cover I won in a raffle when I was a kid. My mum threw it out I couldn’t understand why. I totally get her reasoning now.

  5. CPegasus says:

I think that’s adorable, if it just had better sleeves.

  6. Abigail Adams says:

    OMG its sooo pretty! haha

  7. lola says:

i think this dress is totally retro-cute there is a few things i would chane but thats what sewing machines and sissors r for rite?? haha

  8. Moni says:

And again a dress that wouldn’t look that bad in an Old West environment (except for the visible zipper in the back), but just doesn’t seem at home at a modern day prom. Adding some sleeves would improve things of course…

  9. helan beer says:
