The world of teen fashion isn’t one that’s often address here at The Fashion Police because, let’s face it, it’s kind of a lawless land. We all know that teenagers wear – and occasionally even get away with – things that we adults just wouldn’t even consider trying on. Until now, that is.
Before you are two pairs of pants, both from Hot Topic, and both ugly in their own unique ways. Will you go for the oversized flares, accessorised with strips of tartan, or would you prefer to keep it skinny,and wear your shoelaces where you can see them – all the way up your legs? The choice is yours, but remember, you must pick one of them – or die!

Definitely the skinny with the shoelaces. You could get pretty ribbon or something to replace the black and match your top.

I _am_ a teenager, but I won’t wear one of them. But if I had to decide, I would take the skinny ones.
When I was a teen (early teens I’ll add) i’d have plumped for the second pair.
Thus, due in part to my shame, I’d pick the skinnies. And i don’t even like skinny jeans much.
I hate plaid. Skinnies by default.
The skinnies are less hideous from an on-the-rack point of view. Initially I thought I would have to go with them. Then I realised that, while leaving the house in pair no 2 may leave me looking like some kind of homeless unwashed faux-scot emo, I won’t look like I’m selling something that … I’m not selling.
I don’t do skinnies (oh chunky thighs, my archnemesis!) but I’d still pick pair 1.

In my early teens, I would have gone with the 2nd choice, but no more !

Totally the skinnies. The one’s on the right look like boy’s pants, and totally remind me of Hot Topic circa ’95. With the return of Dr. Marten’s I guess the fashion cycle is spinning in that direction once more.

skinnies. I like tartan, but bondage-esque trousers should be narrow, not have flares (old school punk taste here).

I’m going to buck the trend here and go with the big ones. I kind of like big wide legs and drapey styles anyway, and I think with a cute tee shirt, it might not look so, um, prostitute as the skinny pair.
I would definitely chose the skinny pants. But I’m confused, why did you say they were from Wet Seal? They’re from the store Hot Topic (a store with a theme of gothic, grunge, emo, ect.)

dearest fashion police, THIS IS NOT TEEN FASHION, it’s the old avril fashion, we teens pride ourselves on having a better head on our shoulders, therefore i would i say skinnies cos they’re black and well…SKINNY
I’m a teen, and I wouldn’t be caught dead wearing the baggie tartan pants. They’d make you look like a male, punk doofus. The skinnies could be cute with the right shoes, bag, and top.
heh, I believe I still own a pair similar to the plaid bondage pants that I wore in High school. There other ones I wouldn’t have even worn in high school.
Well, if I was thin enough the skinnies certainly! but I rather do love the flared tartan junk who couldn’t ^.^ (yes, I have no shame!)

A teen here as well.
I’d definitely pick the baggy tartans for me. Not that I particularly like them, but I just don’t like skinny jeans. Its not in my style, and can only make their way there on very rare occasions. Yes, they do look good on other people, I have friends who make them look very attractive, but not for me.
I also have a vast selection of punk-inspired tops which would match quite well, even though I’m not really a pants person.

you people seriously need to leave hot topic, the best store in the whole wide world, out of this because its one thing to make fun of peoples ugly dresses but makeing fun of hot topic is taking this way too far and i would wear both on a daily basis if i could

The ones on the left really aren’t that bad. Will they fall apart immediately like everything else I’ve gotten from Hottopic? Sure. But.. I wouldn’t mind them.
