We’ve talked about the invasion of the gladiator sandals before at The Fashion Police, and we think it would be fair to say that the high legged versions haven’t found too many fans here. Not that they care, of course. No, our gladiator friends are pressing forward with their mission to take over the world. one leg at a time, with these two styles currently selling at Topshop for £50 per pair. Now, the Olsen twins and Kimberley Stewart can’t be buying all of the high leg gladiator sandals we’ve been seeing around lately, which begs the question: who is? We certainly haven’t seen any in the environs of the Fashion Police HQ, and while the evidence isn’t conclusive, we’re starting to suspect that it’s one of those so-called trends that exists only in the strange land of the fashion press, and not in people’s actual wardrobes.
Who’s wearing all the high leg gladiators? Is it you?
They look like a trellis for people’s feet. Maybe they would look better with some kind of creeping ivy growing on them?
Steph, I love the trellis comment and I couldn’t agree more. I’m sure this is one trend that I’ll never adopt.
The black one on the right is the most horrible gladiator sandal I´ve seen in my life!

I have been wondering who is buying into this look – they are just hideous! I think they only look bearable on very slim, very toned and very tanned calves! I did see one blogger wearing them successfully though – under a maxi dress!

Is this new trend happening because of that new musical Mama Mia? WTF? They are wretched! They’re almost as bad as Crocs. They look like shoes one would wear to fight lions in the coliseum. Barbaric and hideous! YUCK!

i’m proud to say i do own a pair and i LUV them. they are really not that bad, when worn right. I’ve worn them with shorts and rolled up jeans. let’s try to be a lil bit more open ppl
and plz DO NOT compare the gladiator sandals to CRocs b/c the gladiator sandals have a whole lot more style to them crocs could eva have.
