I would wear it in a shot … if I were tall, slender and with long legs (as opposed to small, busty and average weight). The price tag is a bit hefty though. Heirloom – the jury is out on that one. I guess a lot of the stuff he designed whilst alive will become collector’s pieces in years to come.

What sort of accessories would you put with this dress, particularly a bag – any thoughts anyone?

I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!!! I would pay the price to own it, if I had the money. The colors are bold, the design is unique and sophisticated, and very retro ’70s. Bravo, Lee Alexander McQueen. You will be missed.

I think that this dress is bold, sexy and defiant. I believe that it takes someone without a hint of self doubt to pull it off. I strongly disagree that it is a foolish piece, instead I agree with net-a-porter in saying that it is a piece to be handed down amongst family, or to be admired in the future. Though the price tag is hefty, I would love to be able to wear this dress anyday!

I love it, especially the back. It’s for the real fashion fearless, I think its beautiful and original. Definitely not boring. But the accessories do need to be muted, nothing too colorful or loud.

It’s gorgeous, but as a partly employed university teacher I can only dream about clotehs in that price range. Since historians (at least in Sweden) dress a little scruffy and have few/none glamorous occasion to dress up for I wouldn’t have much use for it either.

Love the back, hate the front. And I would only pay £30.50 for it…
And I would need some pretty high heels to avoid it sweeping up all the rubbish!

I’m with Chica. I actually kind of love it. I’d love it more if it were a tank dress, but for some reason even in this iteration I find it fabulous. Then again I am a complete sucker for colorful things.

For some weird reason I quite like it, I would be terrified of wearing it as it’s a wee bit too bold plus there’s that whopping price tag – i didn’t even spend half of that on my car )
