If he wants HIS shirts ironing surely he can do it himself?

I’m confused. Why do you have to iron your husband’s shirts? Finally have decided to buy stuff that comes out of the dryer looking fairly smooth. I iron about once every two years, and that's only if everything else is in the hamper.

I will occasionally buy something that needs to be ironed before wearing, but that item almost never gets worn! If anything ends up a little wrinkly, I either hang it in the bathroom while I shower to steam out the wrinkles, or toss it in the dryer for a few minutes. I'm entirely too lazy to iron. Which may be why I haven't worn that adorable white linen sundress in my closet in way too long.

I buy wrinkle free when I can, and hang everything up straight out of the dryer. I hate ironing shirts with a passion so I must admit I pay someone else to do those but I iron everything else (bar lycra gym gear) myself generally while watching some trashy TV. How can you stand to go out with crinkled clothes? Plus a good press can make an inexpensive shirt look infintely more expensive.

I’m genuinely shocked at how many people don’t iron. I actually don't mind ironing - yes you can pay me to do yours for you - but I only iron items that really need it, like shirts and certain skirts, dresses and trousers. I never iron jeans and I know one woman who irons underwear - er, why? And another woman I used to work with would constantly bemoan her lack of time and heavy load of housework - it transpired she irons her bedsheets and duvet cover so we told her to shut up!

I voted other. If their hung warm from the drier, they dry great. If you put shirts on coathangers and then hang the coathangers on the line for the shirt to dry, they are practically wrinkle free. If you don't have a drier, a place with good airflow, a constant breeze, will take a lot of the wrinkles out of your clothes. Living in humid places gives your clothes less wrinkles too.
I never used to care either way about ironing, but now that I live in a very dry city, in a badly ventilated apartment with no drier, where I have to iron every. single. little. thing. I've learnt to thoroughly hate it.
Which I now go for waking up 10 minutes earlier and ironing just what I need for that day.

My mum has always said how the clothes are dried has a lot to do with it.<br
