Nicky Hilton and Juliette Lewis work the white shoes/black tights look. Would you?

Celebrity_fashion

Ignoring for just a moment the fact that one of these pictures shows Juliette Lewis, and our general rule of thumb is that if Juliette Lewis would wear something, we probably wouldn’t, we have a serious question to ask: what do you think of white shoes worn with black tights? It’s one of those things we were always brought up to believe was a "fashion don’t", but there seems to be a lot of it around at the moment. Juliette and Nicky Hilton, here, were snapped at the screening of the Prada short film, Trembled Blossoms, and while we can’t find anything to like about Juliette’s outfit at all (shocker!), we reckon Nicky might actually be managing to pull this look off.

Whaddya reckon? Do you/would you wear white shoes with black tights?

    Never!

  2. Diana says:

    Nope

  3. gokarm says:

Whatever. I’m just so totally over the “tights” thing. I think Nicky looks fine, she’s got sort of an “atonement” fantasy look going on and juliette’s are fishnet, i think, which doesn’t count as “black” in my book. It’s not a loathsome “croc” sized no no, it’s just…not fresh.

  4. Helen says:

It’s not the best look, but I agree that Nicky here has almost managed to pull it off, thanks to her white dress.

  5. Danielle says:

I hate tights, but Nicky almost pulls it off to the more acceptable range.

  6. natasha says:

why do both pairs of shoes look like clogs, though? juliette’s are particularly hideous!

  7. Natty says:

I love what Juliette is wearing. I’m not so keen on the actual style of shoes but think she pulls it off well. I would give the black tights, white shoes a bash, but then I like clashing and experimenting!

  9. Victoria says:

Overall I think this look can be great but Nicki’s feet are far to big to pull this off, she looks like she has paddles attached to her legs. As for Juliette Lewis’ shoes – what are they clogs or something? Eeeewwwww

  10. Melissa says:

Hey now Victoria, don’t bash on those of us with big feet. :) I bet you’re blessed with tiny feet. I don’t think hers looks so big, I think her super skinny legs just make them look bigger in proportion.
I think Nicki looks ok. I like the white shoes with black tights when someone has a white dress on but I don’t think I like it with a colored dress.

  11. Ma'at says:

honestly Nicky’s footsies look MASSIVE, and well I’ll just say that I feel J.L.’s outfit matches her look just ugh.. sorry I do not think that woman is in anyway attractive.. rant over.

  12. Marian, Minnesota says:

i would wear nicky’s look. and i’m wearing a black & white graphic dress today with black tights and a purple cardigan and though i love my black booties i’m wearing, i think some white heels would be even more fresh, modern, bold and fun with this outfit. i’m all for it.

  13. Riot Rix says:

Juliette looks amazing. Everything she ever wears is simultaneously gorgeous and unique.
Nicky Hilton looks like a flashback to a 4th-grade orchestra recital. Terrible.
And, once again, Juliette is a goddess. (Have you watched her onstage?)
