When we ran our last Fashion Police Poll, on the fascinating subject of white shirts, I was intrigued by the number of people who commented on ironing, their hatred of it, and how their hatred of ironing prevents them buying clothes that require it.
Now, this was no surprise to me. I hate ironing with every fibre of my being. It is far and away my most hated household chore. Despite this, though, I am a compulsive ironer. I can’t stand the thought of putting on creased clothes, so I find myself ironing on an almost daily basis, much to my disgust.

This may well be one of those "love it or hate it" dresses we feature every now and again. Some of you will probably find it a little too "costumey", while others will love its retro style.
For most of you, whether you love it or hate it is going to be a moot point anyway, because it’s out of stock in everything but a UK size 12 or 14, but if you happen to take one of those sizes, it’s £39.99 at Additions Direct.
So, which is it: love or hate?
What does everyone think of dresses-over-jeans? It’s one of those looks The Fashion Police would love to love, but which always makes us look slightly deranged every time we’ve tried it. This confuses us, because we’ve seen other people manage to pull off the dresses-over-jeans look perfectly well, so we’ll be interested to hear your views.
Case in point: Jennifer Love Hewitt, seen here wearing Marc Jacobs’ clover jacquard dress over a pair of skinny jeans. We reckon this is a tough dress to wear, because of its close relationship to maternity wear, but we think Jennifer actually looks quite cute here. What do you think? Do you wear dresses over jeans? Would you?
Move over Mossy! See ya later, Sienna! Apparently the UK is no longer taking its style inspiration from models and actresses, but from the wives and girlfriends of footballers – the WAGs, in other words. More specifically, we’re taking our inspiration from one Coleen McLoughlin, wife-to-be of Wayne Rooney, and a woman most famous for shopping (not that The Fashion Police can criticize her for that, obviously).
This is according to Look Magazine, who placed Coleen first in a survey carried out to discover the identity of the UK’s number one style icon. Usual suspects, Moss and Miller, came 2nd and 3rd respectively, with the rest of the list fleshed out with more WAGs – Victoria Beckham was 4th and Cheryl Cole 5th.

Stop! (Collaborate and listen…) This is a Fashion Police checkpoint, so we’re going to need you to step to the side and tell us what you’re wearing before you’re going to be able to pass…
Don’t worry though, this checkpoint is just for fun, so no one will judge you, we promise – yes, even if you say you’re wearing Crocs – and just to prove it, we’re going to go first and answer the question: what are you wearing right now?

Continuing with yesterday’s theme of "more affordable dresses", today’s Dress of the Day is brought to you from Oasis, where it forms part of their Little Black Dress collection. Yes, we know it’s red, not black, but it is also available in black (and cream for that matter) so we’re going to let them off on a technicality.
We’re not sure what this dress is made of, but if you visit the Oasis website and use the "zoom" facility, you’ll see that the material looks satisfyingly thick and expensive.
The price is £90, which isn’t too bad for a "special" dress – and let’s face it, you’re hardly going to be wearing this to slob out around the house. Or are you?
You know what we love most about this picture? It’s the way the lady holding the Boot Bag is all dressed up in her little tweed suit, so prim and proper, regardless of the fact that she’s carrying a bright yellow Wellington boot. Seriously, you have to love that, don’t you?
This is the Bootbag by Saskia Marcotti. It retails for $69 and also comes in red and black. Little suits are optional, but recommended, when carrying it.

We’re going to assume these aren’t actually meant to be worn. We’re certainly going to hope they’re not meant to be worn, anyway, because quite apart from being so dangerous they’d probably be illegal to wear in public, they’re also so ugly that they should be illegal.
We think these could well qualify as the most ridiculous platforms in the world, but of course, if you’ve seen a more ridiculous pair then hey, don’t hold back – tell us!

What are those boots called again? You know, the ones made of sheepskin? That make your feet look huge? Damn, it’s right on the tip of my tongue, here… Fug? Dug? Bug? Jeez, if only there was an easier way to remember these things!
Ugg Wiltshire Signature boots. Taking highly-visible branding to a whole new level. Now everyone who looks at you will have but one thought in their head. "Ugg." UggUggUggUggUgg. Ugg. And for good measure: Ugg.
Now what are they called, again?
So, you know how we feel about the Olsen twins. We love them. Really, we do. And generally, we tend to think they can do no wrong. But then, we have this whole "we hate jumpsuits" thing going on, and it’s pretty hard to climb down from that position once you’ve adopted it, even when Mary-Kate Olsen wears one, and still manages to look like a little doll.
What do you think of M-K’s look here? Apart from the fact that, when you view the picture in hi-res, her Louboutins look about a size too big from her, and it’s hard to know how she managed to walk around like that, we mean? But what about the jumpsuit-neon-belt-handbag combo. Is it a case of love it, loathe it, or don’t-really-care-either-way?
