Style on Trial: John Galliano’s Gazette print handbag
The Fashion Police like newspapers – for reading. Oddly enough, that doesn’t make us want to carry all our wordly goods wrapped up in one, so when we spotted this John Galliano ‘Gazette’ print handbag over at Bag Bliss, we were a little bit ‘meh’ about it.
This is one of the new line of handbags Galliano is adding to his various other lines, and while we’re still looking forward to seeing the rest of them, we’re just not sold on this one. Are you?
It just looks cheap, like it comes from a Claire’s Accessories.
I do like it, though…
Especially for a Monday morning in a nice coffee, with a (real) newspaper and combined with a black pants and a white shirt
No, it’s great. This way you can LOOK smart, without actually BEING smart!
I could see it working… but maybe with a mostly black outfit with white trim and accessories.
It does look something like a 16 year old would carry around.
well…if you get bored…you could start reading your bag…other than that…i like it with a black and white outfit with maybe red belt or shoes…
Hideous!
I like it! I am 12 though…
I like it, and it looks like I’m in the majority. It’s graphic without being overpowering. Its obviously high in contrast, which is bold, and it knows where to put emphasis and where to make the words sink and fade. It’s also practical, unlike those cute little clutch purses that are such darlings today. This is a purse I could see myself taking to a coffee shop in the morning or a night on the town, and though it’s not for everyone, I enjoy Galliano’s fearlessness. Long live the theatrics!
I like it, i think it’s edgy and unique. Also like to new collection print bags with the red cherries.
