Wear or Die: New York Fashion Week Edition

fashionweek Wear or Die: New York Fashion Week Edition

We’ve called this the "New York Fashion Week" edition of Wear or Die,but it would actually be more accurate to describe it as the "Bestsey Johnson edition" because it was Betsey, bless her, who brought both of these outfits to the New York runway earlier this week.

Regular readers will already know the drill: you have to wear one of these outfits, in its entirety, or die. But what’s it going to be? Will you choose to wear the outfit on the left, comprising an 80s-style jumper (with gun print, no less!) worn with camel-toe inducing shiny leggings, or will you simply choose to dress up as Jodie Foster in Taxi Driver, in the outfit on the right? The choice is yours…

  1. Definitively the yellow, weird thingy. That other ensemble on the right looks like a public lady hanging around at a service station in texan outback.

  2. I was going to say taxi driver, but then I noticed the high-waisted shorts, so I’m going to have to go with the gun thing. In Southern California, that kind of fashion is acceptable on some people around here (unfortunately)

  3. it might sound completely outrageous, but maybe i’d combine the two… basically, take the hooker outfit, but wear the weird yellow jumper instead of that feathered …. thing (yes, i actually lack the words to describe it)
and also, it would cover the high waist of the shorts. would that be allowed? of course, i’d still look crazy…

  4. The gun thing, definitely. Because you could maybe sort of pull it off as something akin to all those discount-bin tshirt places that have sprouted up online which derive their humor from the inherent ‘hilarity’ of randomness. You know, the stuff aimed at teenagers with too much money and a primal desire to follow the crowd. Plus, at least with a sweater on, *some* part of me would stay warm! :-D
