When I first saw it I thought it was a bag-printed bag, which is nice!

Marc Jacobs is crazy. If they were separate, they would be a lovely tote bag and a very pretty evening bag. But the sum of the two is definately less than the parts.

I think your first reaction was correct. This is a self-referencial joke, he just took it a step further and made the joke functional. I mean really, the “bag” is nothing more than an additional pocket. I don’t think you’re actually meant to carry this bag to a formal event as if anyone’s not going to notice there’s a tote bag attached to the evening bag.
