Every time I look at these Religion drape-front trousers, I’m horribly reminded of saggy, wrinkled skin edging its way down someone’s legs. I say "reminded" – I’ve never actually seen anyone with leg-skin like that, but Religion have cleverly made me imagine it. Thanks, Religion. The tapered leg effect doesn’t do much for me either, it has to be said, buy the "my hips are sliding down my legs effect" of the top half of these pants makes what’s going on at the bottom almost irrelevant.
What do you think, Fashion Fans? Should we class these as a Crime of Fashion, or do you think wrinkles are going to be big this year?
Mona went to Anthropologie to select her Valentine’s Day outfit, adding a white slip and chunky sweater to make the dress a little more appropriate for the February weather. Her outfit picks are below: meanwhile, if you’d like to play, leave us a comment with the links to each item you’d wear for a Valentine’s Day dinner (the choice of venue is up to you!)
Paris has one. Britney has one. Hell, lots of celebrities have one. No, we’re not talking about a habit of going out in public without their knickers, we’re talking about cute little purse-sized dogs. And now you can have one too! Only, you know, without the actual "dog" bit. These sausage dog clutch bags are by Caroline Borger & Klaartje de Hartog, and you can buy them from Dutch by Design, where the pooch of your choice will cost you £65. And you won’t even have to clean up after it, either.
Rumer Willis showed a whole lot of cleavage at the launch party for the new Blackberry Smart Phone. We think she looks a little like an American Apparel model in this outfit, albeit one with a penchant for wooly hats. Rumer is in New York for Fashion Week. Will she have a different "signature" cap for each show, though, we wonder?
Nicole Ritchie didn’t waste much time getting back into her skinny jeans after the birth of her daughter. How is it that celebrities always manage to do that? We’d really love to know…
Sophia Bush wore a bold print tunic to the Blackberry party. Hey, didn’t we issue an amnesty on dresses like this a while back? Sophia, you’re hiding your light under a Bush(el) here…
Looks like Kelly Osbourne is a fan of the trend for floral tea dresses – here she is at The South Bank Show last night, looking fabulous is florals, worn with bright red lips and a plunging neckline. This dress is by Luella, but as we pointed out last week, there are plenty of floral tea dresses just like this in the stores at the moment – and actually, Primark did a dress very like this one last summer, which you can still find kicking around on eBay. Fashion Police badge for Kelly Osbourne, please…
Despite yesterday’s advice to work the "bright colours" trend one bright colour at a time, we love the way J. Crew have paired this fuchsia dress with bright yellow sandals: in fact, it’s making us re-think our natural horror of brights altogether. Dresses-with-pockets are something that didn’t quite appeal to us when they first started cropping up, and we’re still not keen on pocketed wedding gowns, but the pockets on J. Crew’s ‘Lydia’ dress are cute, and help to dress the look down a little. This is also available in yellow and orange as well as black and brown, so you can be as bright or as toned down as you like.
The second of our reader-submitted Valentine’s Day outfits. This one was submitted by Annebeth who went for the traditional pink look (modeled here by our favourite ShopBop model, no less!), warmed up by some black outerwear and accessories.

Not so long ago, I caused a bit of scandal here at The Fashion Police by admitting that I own a denim jacket. "A denim jacket?" asked one commenter, aghast. "They still exist?" Well, yes, indeed they do – and actually, the humble denim jacket has been reinvented for Spring. Lots of stores are currently carrying versions with cropped sleeves, nipped-in waists and ruffles, so it looks like denim jackets are going to be sticking around for the time being at least.
What we want to know, though, is what you think of them. Do you own a denim jacket? Would you wear one of these ones? Or should they be firmly consigned to Fashion Police jail?
