Dress of the Day: Jean Paul Gaultier’s stretch poplin bow dress
Now that the Christmas party season is but a distant memory (and a few extra pounds on the waistline), we’ve had enough of all the sequins and glitter, and are hankering after something cleaner, simpler and more innocent looking.
This poplin bow dress by Jean Paul Gaultier would be more at home on a summer picnic than in a sweaty nightclub, and although the $980 price tag will, in fact, preclude you from doing anything that might involve grass stains, sweat or spillage, but we’re still loving the "Little Bow Peep-ness" of it, especially in this summery periwinkle blue.
Shame it’s still winter, no?

The dress is very cute, but the way it’s shaped and the position of the bow would present far too many questions if I wore it…things like “How many months along are you?” and “Is it a boy or a girl?”
I love this site and I agree with 98% of what you say. But not on this dress. It’s rather shapeless and I don’t think it would look good on most people.
I’ll jump on the bandwagon, while the color is pleasing the shape leads plenty to be desired. I can see someone with Kate Moss’s shape and height being able to pull it off but the hour-glass figures need to avoid at all costs.
I love it. Although the other comments are probably right, I’d love to see how it would look with a wide waist belt.
