Fashion Trends: Seeing Star Print

Starprint_2

If you’ve been reading this site for more than a day – or maybe even less than that, actually – you’ll already know that star print is one of the trends for Spring/summer 08. We know, who knew? Luckily, not all star print is as bold as "that" Topshop dress: it can be as subtle as the star print blouse above, from Dorothy Perkins or ASOS Petite’s star print dress – hell, you can even wear it on your bra. Like it or loathe it, you probably better get used to it, because let’s just say you’re going to be seeing a LOT of it, for a few months at least.

Do you like it or loathe it?

At the moment, I like it, especially my Primark star shawl but I can see this is going to be everywhere. My local market is already on the bandwagon with star covered clothes galore!

  2. It definitely depends on the piece.
Generally, I prefer solid colors to patterns, but I see it working well as an alternative to the classic small polka dot, sort of like in the dress above. (I’m actually wearing a black dress today with small white polka dots so it is really easy for me to imagine.)

  4. Yes, I think you’re both right. And any time a trend takes over like this, it always makes me not want to wear it for fear of ending up dressed exactly the same as everyone else I know…

It’s definitely not my favorite print, but some things are pretty cute.
I think it can totally be used well, but some outfits with this print look a little “pre teen” to me!
